In Date Night Easter Gigi Maddie Jane Weekends

Easter Weekend at Gigi's

After what should have been a 4 hour drive to Mom's house in Beuufort, SC... we arrived close to midnight after 7+ hours of driving! But that didn't stop this girl from getting up at the crack of dawn, putting her bathing suit on, and declaring it beach time.

And I had work to do and earrings to make.. so I convinced her to play at home for a bit and then we headed downtown Beaufort to meet up with Mom and AJ who were both working at mom's office.

Maddie Jane got to see and brush a horse and did some exploring with Gigi. After lunch we headed to the playground and survived some INSANE wind.

Like 50 mile an hour wind. It was CRAY.

That night we had a date at a suuuuper fun place called 10 Market. Mom gave AJ a gift certificate for his birthday and the dining experience was seriously top 5 coolest things we've ever done.

Quick pic with Maddie Jane and baby brother before leaving. Thank you for the gift certificate AND babysitting Gigi!

This restaurant only seats 12 people and only serves one meal each Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Each weekend has a theme and the menu is literally created a few days in advanced based on the freshest ingredients possible. (Thanks to the chef for altering my plate to not include anything raw and making me a fun mocktail!)

It was so awesome to be able to watch the chef in his element.. seeing all the layering of flavors that went into every dish. And it was cool to talk to all the different types of people at the table.

The next time we are in Beufort (and I'm not pregnant) we will be going back! TOP notch service, food, environment .. if you are close to the area... GO!

The next morning AJ and Chip went fishing, so we went shopping! We walked around the cute shops and ended up at the playground again.

Still pretty windy and chilly, but we survived!

Maddie Jane was still absolutely insistent on the beach, so we bundled up and went! While mom and I were bundled under towels with our teeth chattering, Maddie Jane was happily sporting her swim suit without a care in the world.

I kept asking her if she was sure she didn't want her clothes but.. nope! She was happy as a clam.

Meanwhile Molly did a lot of this... spoiled pup.

On Sunday morning we had planned to go to the waterfront Easter service, but with the still crazy winds and cold temps and only sleeveless dresses with us..we opted to stay home.

Maddie Jane dyed eggs for the first time and loved decorating them! And we did a little egg hunt inside for her.

And after lunch, we packed up the car and headed back to North Carolina. This was Maddie Jane before we even got out of Mom's driveway! This was an impromptu little trip, but it was sooo nice to be able to spend the holiday with family :)

Quick Trip - Phoenix and LA

Hey! Hi! I am back from my month long unintentional hiatus from blogging. With a toddler, a household to take care of, a part time job, a jewelry business, 578 things on our social calendar and housing a large baby in my womb well... blogging hasn't been very high on the To Do list. But man I love having this little scrapbook of our life, so I am about to knock out SIX posts - I have them scheduled to publish every day from now till Wednesday, so strap in!

Back at the beginning of April, Mom and I flew to Arizona for Ryan's Bar Mitzvah. When I went a few years ago for Hayden's, I had Maddie Jane with me, so I missed a large part of the ceremony. It was so cool to actually get to listen and really soak in Ryan's... he did an AMAZING job. He is so well spoken and didn't miss a beat singing the Hebrew prayers.

After the service, we headed home to set up for the party. Well... a large part of it was already done, but we decorated, organized, and got ready for the 100+ guests that were expected to invade Clint and Denise's backyard.

They used their backyard for Hayden's and it went so well... they decided to do it again! I was in charge of the balloon arch - pretty proud of it!

First time deputing my earrings! Man I have a lot to say and show about my earrings.. but that's a post for another week, ha!

The weather was GREAT! The sky was gorgeous, and everyone had such an amazing time! I miiiight have snuck in around 9pm to go to bed because #pregnant and #ihada6amflight.

Love this Mama of  mine so much! We don't get to travel often just the two of us, but it sure does my soul good when we do. And holy cow we look like twins in this pic!

Best part of the party - def the photo booth!!
Everyone in the house was sleeping when I dipped out and grabbed an Uber to the airport. I caught the earliest flight to LA to see my bestie Kelsey! I figured I was THIS close to the west coast, it would be a shame to not just hop on over to her!

She grabbed me from the airport and we set out to do all things LA. First up acai bowls!

And avocado toast. And of course getting that perfect pic for the gram.

After breakfast, we headed up to Malibu for a hike neither Kelsey nor I had done. We use to hike in LA all.the.time. and it's def one of the things I miss most about the west coast.

Kelsey thankfully picked a pretty easy hike with only one large incline. It was SO exhilarating doing a 4 mile hike at 7 months pregnant. I felt like a total bad ass, not gonna lie.

There are so many mountains and valleys that you can get to from LA in under 20 minutes and it totally feel like you are 100s of miles from the city.

After that hike, we headed over to the Century City Mall right by my old apartment. They were doing renovations as we were leaving and of course now it is AMAZING. Seriously, the best mall I have ever been in. I had this gigantic sandwich from Richard Blais' restaurant The Crack Shack.

That afternoon we vegged out on the couch, binge watched The Act, and ordered sushi for dinner. It was sooooo good to spend some quality time with my California bestie. Sometimes you make friends that will stay with you a lifetime.. Kelsey is one of those :)

Meanwhile back at home, Honey and AJ held down the fort with Maddie Jane's social calendar and my to do list :) They wrapped up the soccer season, went on an Easter egg hunt, strung lights on the back deck, put mulch in the flower beds, and planted flowers in all my planters! Isn't it so nice to have a mother in law to come in to help with your kiddo AND get all that done!? She's a gem I tell ya.

And these two surprised me at the airport! I missed them so stinkin much and I was so happy to be back home!! See you back here tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the next :)

In Family Little Things Maddie Jane Molly Weekends

March Little Things

Well since April is half way through.. prob should get these March little things up on the blog. Pretty soon I won't even remember the details - thanks pregnancy brain! That pic up above was from Iliza Shleshinger in Atlanta - Lexie gave me tickets for my birthday and then the date was moved to March. Fun little excuse to get down to Atlanta for the night!

I LOVE this girl's personality. She is such a performer and loooooves being the center of attention. Poor baby brother doesn't stand a chance. We joke he won't talk until he is three!

On Dr. Seuess' birthday, Pamela and I took MJ and Lily to a story/craft time in Davidson. The girls had sooo much fun! Love their little relationship!

Gigi sent Maddie Jane a big box of new spring clothes and this rainbow skirt with pockets is BY FAR her favorite!

She has insists on braids almost every day lately for school to match her best friend, Wynter. I struggled at first with her super fine hair, but I'm getting pretty dang good if I say so myself!

Every single day. Can't stop. Won't stop with the homemade yogurt parfaits!

The guy is at the grocery store and it cost ONE PENNY to ride. Solid investment/bribe to get Maddie Jane to behave in the store.

We started swim class in March. You can read all about Maddie's big week HERE.

We had some hibachi for a weekend dinner.. which is ALWAYS a treat around here!

And started soccer! It's over now- just a 5 week intro class- MJ did great, but I think we will stick to solo sports for awhile :)

We went to brunch at our favorite restaurant - Block Bistro - three times in March. Ooops!

Daddy jamming and Mommy getting huge...

We met some princesses that you can read about back HERE.

AJ and I went on a parents' only weekend to Charlottesville that you can read about back HERE

We've enjoyed the weather warming up! Soaking up alllllll the 70s weather before we are in the 90s!

There was a gigantic consignment sale up here (over 80,000 items!!!) and I racked up on stuff. ALLLLL this (mostly Polo and Gap) for $50!

My side kick... doing what she does best..

Maddie Jane is in a stage where whoever is beside her is her "best friend" -- on this day, it was Molly!

Our neighbor Clara turned 4 and Maddie Jane went to their house for a birthday dinner!

Then celebrated again the next day at her friend birthday party! These two are soooo cute together!

And the weather turned back cold and I was back in my uniform. I have worn these same leggings almost every single day with a rotation of 4 shirts. Today it's going to be 80 though!! I'm breaking out my shorts and tanks!

Naps are rare for MJ these days, so I love snapping a pic. Especially when it includes her best friend Molly.

And rounding off the month in Sandersville for two showers that you can read about HERE!

Per usual, I'm going to do some marathon blogging. So check back here tomorrow and Friday!!
