In Life Lately Maddie Jane

Life Lately

I've gotta be honest.. I've thought about hanging this blog up lately. I just don't have the time or energy.. I don't really enjoy it.. AND I'm never taking pictures anymore. I have tried to be more present with MJ instead of constantly taking pictures. But then again I absolutely love going back and looking at old posts and I want MJ to have this in the future to look back on her childhood.. so here I am.. trying to play catch up.

We have been trying out a new restaurant each weekend here in Huntersville. It's not LA quality, but we are having fun :)

Our deck doesn't currently look like this (it's covered in 4+ inches of snow, eeek!), but we have thoroughly enjoyed this setup!! I have watched every UGA game out there - it's been so nice!

My step sister Ashton (who everyone calls Bug) lives in Columbia. Because she is only an hour and a half away, she is able to come spend time with us all the time. It has been SO nice getting quality time with her and having some help with MJ.

We took Maddie Jane to see her second movie.. the first didn't go so well and we may have dragged her out screaming and crying. This one was MUCH better. She loves the Grinch so much, and this new version was super cute.

I technically only work Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday while Maddie Jane is at school. But of course, work inevitably comes up on Mondays and Fridays. I have had to get creative keeping her busy during those times!

More Bug time.. pedicures :)

Our little town had a parade with Santa and the official tree lighting. To say Maddie Jane loved it would be a HUGE understatement. She was so amazed!

Modeling our new Christmas pajamas..

More Mommy is working activities ha

One day she had to take a lunchbox to school, and she thought it was the coolest thing! Thankfully we had a hand-me-down from Peyton to save the day!

We made a quick trip down to Atlanta to have dinner with AJ's sister and Dad for Thanksgiving. And of course this is the ONLY picture I have..

And that's that! I am going to catch up this week on Maddie Jane's 3rd birthday and our snow day!! Well hopefully I am.. AJ and I are off to Europe tomorrow EEEEKK

Life Lately

Playing catch up again! Summer time is just so stinkin busy, and I've been constantly chasing my tail the past few weeks. Here is a big ole photo dump, and a little bit of caption from our life lately..

We have been spending a lot of time with our sweet neighbors - Maddie Jane and Natalie are just the cutest little pees in a pod. LOVE being part of such an awesome neighborhood!

While E was here, we all went to the Fox to see Book of Mormon. It was SO good! I laughed until I cried.. the jury is still out on this jumpsuit though.. I FELT so cute in it, but doesn't photograph well..

We also grabbed dinner with Bruce while E was here. We had some of the best sushi at Monkey 68 in Roswell!

MJ had a girls day with Honey while she was here and they came up to the Avalon to see me and have lunch. Annnnnd Honey may have bought Maddie Jane every pair of shoes in Gymboree, ha! Man oh man I could say a million words about having my mother in law here for two weeks. She was such a blessing and helped out with so dang much! We love you, Honey!!

I hopped down to Sandersville last Saturday for one of mom's retirement parties. Big post on her retirement coming soon!

I rolled out of bed in Sandersville and hit the road back to my girl. That whirlwind called for messy hair, burgers and ice cream!

Monday I met Amanda to hand MJ off to go to Grandmas for the week. She LOVES those Turner boys something fierce. (And she is so dang bossy.. no idea where she gets that from.. She said "Barrett cuddle with me! Mommy take a picture!" .. I shudder to think about her teenage years..)

MJ kept up with the boys for TWO days full of playing, splash pad, and baseball. I got a text from Grandma last night saying she feel asleep at 6pm before bath or bedtime (and she didn't wake up until 6 this morning)!

I miss that girl SO much, but she is having the time of her life with her cousins, Gigi, Grandma, Granddaddy, and alllll the other visitors in and out. Summers at Grandma's house are some of the BEST memories I have from childhood. Maddie Jane is SO lucky to have a grandma and great-grandma who are both such a BIG part of her life!!

And until we get our girl back... Age and I are going on back to back date nights! And I couldn't be more excited :)

In Gigi Life Lately Maddie Jane

Life lately

Hey hey! Playing the catch up game today. Pic up above is one of our daily morning pictures to Gigi. Smiley girl LOVES school!

Last Friday at work, we celebrated hitting April goals with Beer Olympics. The operations team was team pink and we had one whole point at the end of the Olympics, ha! Fun nonetheless..

AJ had a late meeting on Friday, so Maddie Jane and I went to the mall to return something and grabbed Chick fil A for dinner.

On Saturday we headed down to Forsyth to the Turners. Maddie Jane got to see their baby chickens and she was absolutely beside herself!

She liked the idea of these guys but reallyyy didn't want Barrett to get to close, ha!

Mom's whole family was there for a big combination celebration - Grandma Audrey's birthday, Mother's Day, and Mom being cancer free for 10 years! (And please notice that insane blue icing on MJ's cupcake. Her poop was blue for DAYS. Thanks, Kroger.)

Maddie Jane went home with Gigi and Grandma and Age and I had a couple of parents' only days. On Sunday I did a ton of yard work and AJ went into the office. We celebrated with margs and cheese dip. Then took it easy watching a movie and grilling out Sunday night. Ahh. Good for the soul.

Meanwhile at Grandma's house, Maddie Jane was having the time of her life learning to make biscuits!

MJ was able to go to Grandma's house because I had to go down to Sandersville on Tuesday for Brentwood Honor's Day. AJ and I started a scholarship fund for a graduating senior and we awarded our first recipient this year!

While in town we visited our favorite girls - Kat and Sarah and saw sweet Ms. Pam!

Look at that running and jumping to her Kat. All the heart eyes!

All my favorite girls in one picture. These two mean the WORLD to me. So lucky to have them.

I whipped out payroll at mom's office, then Maddie Jane and I hit the road back to Atlanta. Whirlwind day, but totally worth it!! I'll be back tomorrow for Friday Favorites!

In Date Night Life Lately Maddie Jane NYE

End of December..

The day after Christmas I got all the decorations down and the house cleaned up. I normally leave them up until after the New Year, but with a dead tree, I was itching to just get it out!

The next day AJ headed back to work and we had a fun day with Amanda and Barrett planned! These two are so much alike, it's crazy. I'm constantly calling her Little B. Two free spirits being crazy in Target, ha!

The next day we had a girls day! This was her get up when I asked her to go get ready, ha!

E gave Maddie Jane a year membership to the Children's Museum for Christmas. A Mama's dream -- no clutter in the house and something to do on cold/rainy days!

It was a liiiiitle packed being around the holidays, but we are hoping to go back ASAP.

We went on "Messy Thursday" and Maddie Jane wasn't quite sure about getting her hands in that shaving cream, ha!

Meanwhile... Molly Polly did a LOT of this.

We ended our girls day with a nice little tea party and dinner in tututs.

On New Year's Eve we walked over to Waffle House for breakfast. It's the closest restaurant to our new house and I can see this is going to be a very regular thing on Saturday mornings, ha!

We had a very low key day, then Ms. Sam came over to watch Maddie Jane and we headed to dinner at Barcelona. It was a great spot pre-concert!

Then we headed to the Georgia World Congress Center for Bassnectar! We use to do this alllll the time, but haven't been since 2014 I think?? VERY thankful to have VIP tickets with close access to bathrooms for this old lady, ha!

We stayed until about 12:30, then called it a night! We were exhausted!

On New Year's Day we headed over to Kelley and Michael's for their Rose Bowl watching party.

We left at halftime to get this nugget in the bed, and I had to whisper scream the entire second half of that amazing come back. I had tears streaming down at the end of that game. I couldn't believe it was real life.. we were actually going to the National Championship!! Glory, glory y'all. I am so incredibly proud to be a Dawg.
