EEK how cute is that baby girl!? She looks so grown up with her new little outfit :) Mornings with her are my FAVORITE.

A clean baby in brand new pajamas is my FAVORITE. We went to the outlets last weekend and this was the first time Maddie Jane has helped pick out her clothes when shopping. She got monsters and puppies.. tomboy much??

I went to the car wash to vacuum allllll the cheerios out of my car. When I went to run through the car wash, I realized I didn't have my wallet. The sweet owner paid for my wash! Now that place is definitely my FAVORITE car wash, ha!

At work I run our wellness program.. I finally got my act together and created some wellness challenges for people to earn points (in addition to their step points). This month we are doing 100 minutes of planks and drinking 15 gallons of water (240 glasses). It hasn't been an easy feat, but the accountability is my FAVORITE.

And this weather.. absolutely my FAVORITE. This is by far the best time of year in Georgia.. Such perfect weather to play outside every afternoon!

Last weekend we tried out shopping at Aldi in an attempt to really find our favorite products/best prices. Some of their stuff is insanely cheap and some not so much. Definitely worth going there for milk, eggs, canned goods, condiments. My FAVORITE thing we found was the Sea Salt Chocolate Caramels. hooolllllyyyy cow. YUM.

I snagged this banner from the $1 section and grabbed a white pumpkin from Target as well. Adding a little Halloween/Fall to our house has been my FAVORITE. Love starting to collect stuff for every season now that we actually have a house!

AJ has been in Colorado this week, so it's just been me and my girls. I have gotten lots of extra snuggles in every night and it's been my FAVORITE. Pretty thankful this girl has been an angel while Daddy was gone :)

Happy Friday you guys! I am working a half day then off to the dentist for a ton of work this afternoon.. ugh! Hope y'all have a great weekend and GO DAWGS.

Apartment Updates

Decorating your home is a funny thing.. Something I thought I was an expert at until I actually got down to it. You go from posters and bulletin boards in high school at your parents' house, to finally getting a place of your own in college and designing it (mostly with empty wine bottles) with your roommates, then on to figuring out a combined style with your husband and y'alls mix matched furniture and belongings..

We have lived in our (THIRD!) apartment together for a year and a half now and man how things have changed. In addition to figuring out our style, we added an extra tiny person.. Which called for moving and shifting and being super creative with storage.We have picked up things here and there and have definitely learned from trial and error what we like and dislike. (And to ALWAYS go a shade lighter on that paint swatch you have your eye on..)

This place is by no means our forever home (please sweet baby Jesus let it only be our next 10 months home).. So we haven't put a ton of money into it - lots of Ikea and Craigslist finds around here. And we have the limitations of being in an apartment and restrictions around painting, and hanging, and all that hoopla that comes along with being renters. BUT with our tiny budget and restrictions. we have made it a HOME.

So with our most recent master bedroom face lift this weekend, I wanted to give a quick update on some things we have done over the past 18 months on Missouri Avenue..

In Decorating Father's Day Maddie Jane

AJ's FIRST Father's Day

Thankfully, we got home from Georgia on Saturday night so we were able to spend all of Sunday at home for AJ's first Father's Day!

I had contemplated buying him a new Keurig for Father's Day, but talked myself out of it.. Ours was almost 10 years old and was working okay, and I thought we could get a little more out of it.. And on cue, I went to make a cup Sunday morning, and it didn't work! So I ordered one from Target and sent AJ to go pick up his second gift, ha!

And our new rug too!! We have been on the search for a new rug with Maddie Jane almost mobile. Ours was so old and refused to come clean.. I found this one at Target for $120!! I'm so obsessed with this print.. you can find it obnoxiously everywhere in our apartment.

Maddie Jane and I stayed home while Age ran errands.. Cleaning, unpacking, etc. That little clip in her hair.. I die!! She looks so grown up!!

We headed to Westwood for sushi and tried out the new hand roll bar, Kazu Nori! It is owned by our favorite place, Sugar Fish.. They only do hand rolls and there is only about 20 seats around a square bar.. Surprisingly we didn't have to wait at all. It was SO good, SO fresh, and a little cheaper than Sugar Fish.. We will absolutely be back!

So incredibly thankful this man is Maddie's Daddy. He is so attentive, caring, and hands on with our girl. It is the best feeling in the world knowing he will be there for her every step of her little life. I sure did pick a good one y'all!

Post lunch calls for an outfit change after drooling over sushi rice, and a nap! That sweet baby was so happy to be back in her bed and has been sleeping HARD!

We ended such a special day with Daddy snuggles and the NBA finals. And we all had minimal clothes on because it is HOT in LA. I mean we are suffering over here with our little wall unit and 90+ degree heat in our top floor, sun facing apartment. Say a prayer that it cools down ASAP, before I force AJ into moving us into a hotel!

1. What we're eating this week...

2. What I'm reminiscing about...

Three years ago I was on my bachelorette trip!! Would give the world to spend a weekend with all these ladies again!

3. What I'm loving...

Our new balcony!! While E was here she REALLY spruced it up.. I asked for her help and I was expecting some like $5 grocery store plants.. She blew it out of the water!! This place is such an oasis for a glass of wine at the end of the day!

4. What we've been up to...

This past weekend I was in Georgia for Kelley's wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous and she was a STUNNING bride.

5. What I'm dreading...

I'm not dreading a thing! Life is goooood!

6. What I'm working on...

We are working on sign language! Using Applied Behavior Analysis from my therapist days in college. Right now we are just focusing on the sign for "more" with baby food.

7. What I'm excited about...

Thanks to my mom.. SO MUCH RicRac&Ruffles clothes! We are LOVING them. So excited for the brand rep announcement on Monday. Fingers crossed we are chosen!!

8. What I'm watching/reading...
Just started this book on the plane ride home from GA. I have been a super slacker in the reading department.. Excited to have a bathtub read! And what better than a classic Nicholas Sparks?

This show is finally BACK. Oh man, I love Charleston. And I looovee watching the ridiculous lives of "old money". This show is a TRAIN WRECK and oh so good.

9. What I'm listening to...

Dave!! On repeat until August. I gave AJ tickets for his birthday and I can.not.wait. In the pre baby days, we went to DMB shows at least twice a year. It's the soundtrack to our lives.. walked down the aisle to it, first dance.. we LOVE Dave. You can't listen to this stuff and not smile.

10. What I'm wearing...

I'm awful at taking pictures of what I'm wearing these days. And I have some cute stuff!! But usually by the time I remember to take a pic, I have baby spit up on me... I digress.

I literally did not pack one thing for Kelley's rehearsal dinner. Fortunately, I found this cute little number at Target a couple hours before it started!

11. What I'm doing this weekend...

NOTHING, but hanging out with my two favorites!! So excited for a down weekend. We only have TWO between now and June 24th!! #jesustakethewheel

12. What I'm looking forward to next month...

AJ is taking us to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad for Mother's Day! Not sure what I am more excited about.. the flowers or seeing Maddie in a pool for the first time at our resort!!
