In Family Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

A month or two ago I offered up our house as a new venue for Thanksgiving. Little did I know it would be an insanely chaotic time in our life, but we made it happen and it was so perfect! I loved filling my home with so many people I love and making some pretty incredible memories with those sweet folks. This is going to be a pretty jam packed post of mostly pictures (thanks to our family shared album) and not much words. But I'm sure you don't mind :)

Mom brought me up some eucalyptus, I scored bags of pumpkins for $1 at Wal Mart and threw some craft paper on the table and called it a day :)

Maddie Jane is pretty enamored with all of her big cousins, but she has a special little bond with Peyton and it's THE sweetest thing.

Thankfully the weather was perfect and the sun was out for our feast outdoors!

Shout out to Amanda for ensuring the kids would actually eat something!

Aren't my grandparents the cutest? Traveling three hours and staying over night wasn't the easiest for them, but I am so incredibly thankful they did :)

I don't think Molly was fed actual dog food for three days straight. She seriously lucked out!

Gigi and CC! I'm so lucky to call them mine :)

The Jones clan from Arizona joined us too!! They rented a house on Lake Allatoona just a couple miles down the road.

Oh this sweet man of mine. We did a ton of yard work, and house cleaning, and a To Do list a mile long to pull together this weekend. I was/still am struggling with awful headaches, so he is the ONLY reason this was all possible.

That was the BEST nap.

These are the corn hole boards from our wedding that Mr. Arlis and my Grandpa made (that I have painted over a couple times..) MANY tournaments were played on them this weekend and it was so nice having a little piece of P & B's Pops there.

As the sun went down, we bundled up in blankets and roasted s'mores on the fire pit.

Maddie Jane found Barrett's mask and she thought it was HILARIOUS.

Friday night we did a shrimp/crab leg boil as our family members started to dwindle.

These were Maddie Jane's first crab legs and to say she was a fan is an understatement.

Saturday morning.. Game Day! AJ was pretty quiet because I think he knew what was coming :)

Rob and Becky joined the party for our at-home tailgate. We had tried to get tickets but now I'm glad we didn't spend all that money for 10+ people to go. It was .. a blowout :) Glory, glory y'all.

Big R and Little R baked us some cookies!

And this girl was jumping sides all day between saying Go Dawgs and Bzzzz. I know she will pick the right team in the end :)

Our Arizona family are Tech fans.. but we claim them anyway.

And Saturday night we brought out allllll the leftovers from the past 3 days and cleaned out the fridge! We spent more time outside and watched the rest of the days rivalry games.

We were SO thankful our family came up and let us host our first ever holiday! After 6 years of apartment (and west coast) living, it is so nice to finally use some of those cute serving dishes I got at my wedding all those years ago, ha!

Now on to the next thing... I know a sweet little girl that is turning TWO tomorrow!!!

In Family Fashion Recipes Thanksgiving What's Up Wednesday

What's Up Wednesday

On the last Wednesday of every month I link up with Mel, Shay and Sheaffer to do What's Up Wednesday. One of my favorie post of the month -- and Happy early Thanksgiving guys!!

1. What we're eating this week...
Saturday: Autumn Lasagna (This is one of the best dishes in the entire WORLD. It's a labor of love, but just make a ton and put it in the freezer to pop out for an easy meal.) You can find the recipe HERE.
Sunday: We braved a dinner out with Maddie Jane. She is giving us a run for our money these days (Helllooooo terrible twos.) We survived. Barely.
Monday: We tried out one of my favorite Mama bloggers, Carolina Charm's Asian Noodle Soup. This is definitely something more up AJ's aly, but I loved it too!
Tuesday: Trader Joe's chili chicken lime burgers and a poppy seed salad
Wednesday: Jones Thanksgiving festivities begin!! Hotdogs and chili this night
Thursday: Thanksgiving feast + leftovers
Friday: Low country boil for MJ's birthday!

2. What I'm reminiscing about...
HOW IN THE WORLD IS MY BABY TURNING TWO!? I cannot believe this sweet little picture was taken a year ago. You can find me rocking in the corner.

3. What I'm loving...
Y'all.. I am NOT a makeup person. I don't follow crazes, and I definitely won't be the first in line to grab the newest Kylie Cosmetic. But I do love a good eye shadow and a good deal. And THIS pallet I got from Sephora is a serious bang for your buck. I am LOVING it and thought you might too :) ALSO you should download EBATES. It instantly gets you cash back on hundreds of sites and alerts you of coupon codes to use. Right now Sephora has 8% cash back! Click HERE to download - I just got a $40 check in the mail yesterday - simple and free :)

4. What we've been up to...
This past weekend was our only free one until January. So we soaked up the down time! On Saturday I didn't get out of my pajamas or put on makeup..

Sunday we went to church, grabbed some hot coffee in the freezing, windy weather.

Then braved the cold for our family Christmas card picture. OBSESSED with her outfit - entire thing from Old Navy. They have some gooooood stuff right now, yal.

5. What I'm dreading...
Let me just say the terrible twos have hit us like a ton of bricks. Maddie Jane has been insanely defiant and I am trying every trick in the book to break her. Everyone tells me it's a phase, but I'm running ragged.  Enjoying these sweet little moments when I am NOT discipling her.

I know my sweet girl is in there! And I am trying my absolute hardest to be the best Mama possible. Until then.. we will be spending a LOT of time in timeout and savoring up every little second of the good times. Any tips on survival would be greatly appreciated.

6. What I'm working on...
Buying and wrapping Christmas gifts! My goal this year was to have it all done by December 1st and I think I'm going to make it! I have had the sweetest little helper wrapping too :)

AND getting our house ready for our guests. I had all intentions of just letting these planters be full of dead plants, but I just couldn't do it. I broke down and planted some new pansies. At least they were only $1 a piece, right?

7. What I'm excited about...
We got a GREAT school picture this year! I just love it oh so much. AND we got a decent Christmas card photo, miraculously. Everybody you can expect this to be your Christmas gift this year #sorrynotsorry

8. What I'm watching/reading...
AJ and I got wayyyy behind on this show and have now been watching an episode every night. I just need alllll the tissues. SO MANY FEELS.

9. What I'm listening to...
AJ and I just finished listening to Dirty John. It was a little slow at the beginning but was pretty intense towards the end. Good little way to pass the time on your commute :)

10. What I'm wearing...
Similar Shoes | Jeans | Similar Poncho

Jeans | Similar Top | Vest | Shoes

And just for fun, here is a close up because who doesn't like arm candy and I wanted to give ya the link to my new phone case!

11. What I'm doing this weekend...
Hosting all these guys (plus tons more) at our house for a weekend long Thanksgiving! Wednesday night hotdog and s'more roast, Thanksgiving feast on Thursday, Black Friday shopping, MJ Birthday/Low Country Boil Friday night, THEN tailgating on Saturday! Don't worry I'm not doing this alone.. I have delegated :)
And guys we seriously need a new group photo. This is from summer 2015...

12. What I'm looking forward to next month...
Our next month is crazy. A LOT is going on in the Pryor house. More on that later..
We are also helping host an engagement party for Bev and Ben, hosting Pryor Christmas, E is coming into town, several dinners with friends, Christmas down in Sandersville, and ending out the year with Bassnectar on NYE. It's a crazy one, but we aren't real sure how to do it any different :)

xoxo,
