At about 11am last Wednesday Amanda and I decided to throw Maddie Jane and Barrett a joint birthday party THAT night. If you know us.. you'd probably assume we are the most Pinterest-y moms in the world. Welp for birthday #2 & #7.. that all went out the door.
Thankfully I only had to work a half day, so I hit up the Dollar Tree before snagging MJ from school. ALL the decor cost me a grand total of $19. And you know what? Our kids LOVED it.
We had originally wanted to do this the week of Thanksgiving with all our family in town, but things kept popping up getting in the way of us nailing down a plan. This whole impromptu party almost completely shot my nerves.. but it was TOTALLY worth it.
Thanks Publix for coming through on this last minute cake. You da real MVP.
Then the presents began! Last year she didn't exactly get the whole birthday thing, but this year...she knew EXACTLY what to do.
ON TOP OF THE WORLD. A huge elephant (by far her favorite animal) and Minnie Mouse. She couldn't have come up with a better birthday party if she tried. So happy she and our sweet Barrett could share a birthday party.. probably won't be the last :)
And a ride in her new wagon from Mom and Dad. PERFECT end to the sweetest little night ever.
(And sigh.. no family picture. You will notice that we failed over and over again at a family pic the entire weekend as I pound these blog posts out...)
