1. This heat.
Bla, okay not my favorite. I'm over it. It's 5 billion degrees in Atlanta and I just want to wear my scarves and boots and drink hot coffee again. But until then... we are soaking up all the pool time. And with everyone back in school, we had it to ourselves last night! And this is the look I get from Maddie when I ask her for some of her dinner after swimming hahah
2. Workin on my fitness.
Despite it being a bajillion degrees, I have been trying to work on my fitness. Every single summer, without fail, I gain a pesky 5 pounds that I then have to go work off, ugh. So we have been killing two birds with one stone, our afternoon walks (up the insane hills in our neighborhood) and Maddie Jane's dinner.
3. Unexpected meal.
So this week, I was determined to 1. not have a high grocery bill and 2. clean out all the random stuff in our fridge/freezer/pantry. I came up with some pretty innovative stuff, but this meal I wasn't looking forward to. We had a frozen pizza (I NEVER buy frozen pizzas, nothing against them, we just always make our own, or order delivery.. I got this for the babysitter...) When I pulled it out of the freezer, I noticed it said "great for grilling" and MAN it was so good like that!! A $3 pizza.. best meal of the week.. who would've thunk??
I had also planned to have a side salad, because we had lettuce.. and I thought it was only going to be lettuce and dressing, but I found some corn! then green onions! then grabbed some tomatoes off our little bush and BAM, it was a dang good salad! Not real sure why I am still rambling about a frozen pizza and a head of lettuce.. but it totally made my week, haha!!
4. Ebates.
Have you heard about Ebates? I'm sure you aren't like me and haven't been living under a rock!! So how it works - you install this little button on your browser and every time you purchase something online it will light up to tell you if coupons are available and if you can get automatic cash back. Usually it's just a couple percent, but that adds up!! I have made $14 just this week. So that's like 3 free Starbucks! haha. AND you can connect your credit card, so in-store purchases will count too. Y'all I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner. You can sign up HERE and get a $10 rebate with your first purchase!!
5. Chicken Broccoli Casserole Recipe.
Like I mentioned earlier, I was on a mission to clean all the things out this week. I had some chicken that desperately needed to get cooked before it went bad and broccoli as well (random?) So I was looking around at casserole recipes and I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I mixed some together and tweaked it here and there, and it turned out SO good! I put the recipe below for you guys because it was so dang easy!
4 cups of cooked broccoli

Dinner time with MJ either is 30 seconds long and she literally eats one bite or it takes an hour with her eating the tiniest bites and having dance parties in between. So this has really been a game changer. She doesn't have anywhere to go, so she really concentrates on eating, and we are getting some exercise. Win, win!

4 cups of cooked broccoli
2 cups of cooked chicken
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup of sour cream
3 teaspoons of lemon juice
1/2 taco seasoning pack
1 cup of cheddar cheese
Mix together all ingredients, sprinkle cheese on top and bake at 350 for 25 minutes. DONE. Simple as that. And sooooo good.
BONUS: Because I totally forgot about these pics!!
We went to the splash pad with Katie and Mick on Sunday before heading back to Atlanta. They both took some time getting warmed up to each other and the water, but they were so stinkin cute together. LOVE their little friendship and can't wait to watch it for years to come :)
As always, I am linking up with all of these ladies! Hope you guys have a great weekend!!
