Several of mom's friends and my sweet fried Kelli, hosted a shower for Miss Maddie Jane that was straight out of a magazine! These ladies did not let one detail go unplanned! Gift cards were the suggested gift, so I was able to lighten my load heading back to California. My sweet baby girl is WELL on her way to having every single little thing she needs. We are so blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives!

Weekend Wrap Up and Menu Monday
Posted on Monday, August 24, 2015
Pup pup Molly did LOTS of this during the weekend enjoying our new AC!
AJ did some touch ups on the nursery walls..
I dug up some more non maternity clothes to add into my maternity boring wardrobe and felt pretty darn cute on Saturday running errands.
And errands included Hot Dog on a Stick. nom.
Saturday night was date night back at our new fav pizza place, Pitfire. Told ya we'd be back soon, ha!
And ending it with a warm cookie and ice cream was juuuust what the doctor ordered.
And the weekend was capped off doing lots of snoozing on Sunday!
THIS popped up on my Timehop today. Who are these kids??? Man we look like babies. Guess moving across the country and having a baby ages you! ha!
Menu Monday - Week of August 23
Sunday: Sweet Potato Gnocchi
AJ makes gnocchi all the time. He will make big batches and we'll keep it in the freezer for quick meals. Last night, he tried it with sweet potatoes and it did not disappoint. He did just a simple brown butter sage sauce on top.. yummo!
Monday: Steak Caesar
Tonight, we had Caesar salad topped with fresh grilled corn and steak. Just a light, refreshing meal on a hot night. Going to miss the sweet summer corn (and watermelon) in the fall!
Tuesday: Penne Rustica
If mom and I were in Augusta when I was kid you could find us at Atlanta Bread Co for lunch and Macaroni Grill for dinner, without fail. I would always get the Penne Rustic with shrimp and chicken. I don't know what made this pop into my head, but I found a recipe for it and AJ is making it this week!! SO excited.
Wednesday: Potstickers
We learned this amazing recipe in a cooking class we took a few years ago. It is a little labor intensive.. we'll make the filling with ground pork, Asian seasoning, onions, then fill the wanton wrappers, sear and steam. With a whole pound of ground pork it makes a TON, so no need for a side dish.
Thursday: Hogs in a Hammock
Thursday I am going to be busy packing, doing laundry, last minute errands for our Georgia trip! Our tried and true extra large pigs in a blanket will always be a go to on a busy night in the Pryor house. We're going to make it even better by using cheese hot dogs!
1. AIR CONDITIONER!!!!
Ahhh Thursday was the best day EVER. We finally got a new air conditioner! I was in pajama PANTS and wrapped up in a blanket last night! I got the best sleep of my entire pregnancy in our super cool house (and dark and quiet bc we don't have every window open). Thank you, thank you, thank you Mr. Landlord! I heart you.
2. AJ's cooking skills
Man oh man, AJ's crab cakes made with can crab were out.of.this.world. I was so surprised how great these turned out. He pretty much used the recipe I talked about on Monday. Seriously, this man spoils me so... SO SO thankful to be married to the sweetest, most intelligent, home cook on the planet!
3. Dr. Ben Carson
I have been so so impressed with everything he has said lately. We do NOT need a celebrity idiot or another Bush in office. We need someone with actual intelligence to run our country. He is level headed and thinks things through.. I obviously need to do more research and not just base my opinion off what I'm hearing in the media.. but I think Dr. Carson has got just what this country needs..
4. Being a cool mom..
Me and Maddie J had a little dance party this week. And some of my friends got a front row seat via snap chat. There are so many perks of being a young mom, but being cool def has to be at the top of the list, right?
5. THIS article.
I miss my friends. I miss them so much it hurts. And this article sums is up so, so well. Of course I have friends out here .. but it's just not the same. And the longer these 2000 miles stand between me and my sweet friends from home, the more I just miss life with them. Sure it sucks when I miss something big like a birthday party or a wedding shower, but I miss the day to day. I want to run errands with them, I want to sip wine on their couch, I want to be a part of that mundane every day routine.. T minus 1 week till Georgia.. Can't wait to give each of them a big squeeze and hopefully just do life with them for a few days.
