12 hrs in LA + Vegas

When I was looking for flights to Las Vegas, I just could not get over how ridiculously expensive they were. So I had they genius thought to check out flights to LA first, because every time we flew to Vegas from there, the tickets were never more than $100. I scored! I booked them immediately to go see my old city real quick before the Bachelorette party!

I had 5689 things to do before this trip and time totally got away from me, so an airport pedicure was in store!

After scoring an earlier flight on standby, I made it to LA around 4pm. I took an Uber over to Ares' new office to see the new space and all my girlfriends/old coworkers I miss so dang much.

Of course we had sushi for dinner, because man oh man do I miss California sushi. The sushi in Georgia doesn't even shine a light on it. AND I got to squeeze on this best friend of mine. It killlsss me not seeing her every day anymore.

After sushi, we were off to ice cream. Devri's face trips me out! Wish I could remember what she was saying..

I was barely in LA for 12 hours, and then I was off to Vegas! I took the 6am flight to ensure I had plenty of time to get everything set up.. I normally look homeless at the airport, so I was pretty impressed with this outfit I threw together at 4:30am...

That 6am flight was not so bad with this west coast sunrise I got to see and my upgrade to first class. (Love you Delta!)

I got to Vegas around 7am and hit the ground running. HOLY COW, I forgot how spread out everything is in Vegas and how long it takes to do annnyyything.

Took Ubers to - Airport >> Cosmo >> Wal Mart >> Cosmo

THEN I got to the Cosmo with allllll this stuff and they confiscated my helium tank! After some sweet talking, the manager finally let me blow the balloons up in the basement! BUT I ran out of helium, so it was all a bust anyway! Bllaaa.. I think it all still turned out super cute anyway :)

Ivey (other MOH) and I had picked out some stuff beforehand to pack in the suitcase, that helped a lot! If you are planning a Bach in Vegas, I would suggest getting a courier service!

I did get a few balloons pumped up and the rest I just blew up with my mouth and trashed the others. This suuuupper nice suite totally makes up for it though, right?? I finished up and jumped in the shower right before the girls' plane arrived!

That evening we scratched the dinner plans and snacked in the room in order to have plenty of time to get ready. A couple hours and drinks later, we were ready to celebrate Paige!

I had arranged for a limo/party bus pick us up for the first night out!

I hardly took any pictures! Boo! We spent most of the night at Tao in the Venetian. I had never been, but was really happy with it! AND I made it out till like 1am! HA! On Friday I had a pool day planned and it was sooo needed. Much relaxation after the craziness of the last 24 hours!

Night two we had dinner reservations at Beauty and Essex in the Cosmo. Would totally recommend it! It was tapas style in a really trendy atmosphere. You have to go through a pawn shop to get to the secret door. So cool!

Saturday morning I hopped on a flight and got to snuggle with this girl before she went to bed! Being away any amount of time is hard on a Mama's heart! The struggle is real balancing life, work, friends, and babies! (OH and my sweet hubby who held down the fort to make this all happen :) )

In Maddie Jane Menu Monday

Maddie Jane and a Menu

Last weekend AJ was at a bachelor party in Boone, NC, so us girls held down the fort all weekend. How stinkin cute is this little Old Navy tunic paired with her Matilda Jane pants!?  We were off to watch football and have dinner with Auntie Kell.

Her new favorite thing -- sitting in boxes and reading like she is the teacher. She will hold the book up to show her "students" the pictures. It is sooo adorable.

We got soaked to the bone after church on Sunday when our umbrella broke into a million pieces, so Panera was a MUST. That amazing seasonal autumn squash soup for Mama and mac and cheese for MJ. She has gotten so good at using a spoon!

Props to Gigi on this one.. they do their stretches all the time! hahah She will use her scratchy voice and say sssttttrreeeetttcccchhh!!

Again - boxes and books. Her happy place :)

Our newest adventure - trying to get her to stop stripping!!! She will take off her clothes (and diaper) anytime she thinks we aren't looking. It's the worst during nap/night time, so we had to go back to footed pajamas to keep from having to wash the sheets every single night. I'm sure it's going to be just a matter of time before she figures out how to get these off!

Monday I had the day off and we had such a fun girls day!! (Even if it did start at 5:45... ouch.)

I took Maddie Jane to Monkey Joe's for the first time, and she had the time of her life! We will absolutely be going back a bunch more!! We only stayed for an hour (bc we had lunch plans), but should could have totally done 2! She slept for almost 3 hours on Monday afternoon she was so worn out!

I REALLY want to get back into sharing my Menu Monday each week. This week was a short one because I am off the LA today and Vegas tomorrow (EEK!!) but I will share nonetheless...

Sunday: Edamame and Pork Shumai
Suuuuuch an easy and super yummy meal. Throw the edamame in boiling water for 4 mins and toss with koser salt. And I steamed up from frozen shumai from TJ's. (AJ got home late Sunday night, so I finally got to have a little mini date with him too!!)

Monday: Mini Chicken Tacos and Mexican Corn
Y'all Trader Joe's... I just can't stop raving about their freezer section. Every time I think suuuuurely, this one is going to be a flop, my mind is blown again. Tacos for 8 mins in the oven and saute the frozen corn and top with cotija cheese. YUM.

Tuesday: Gnocchi with Butternut Squash Sauce
Whenever AJ makes gnocchi from scratch is a huge labor of love.. so he makes a ton and we freeze in individual baggies for a quick week night meal. He then boiled cubed butternut squash and mixed it with cream and thyme and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I really could just eat that sauce as soup.

I will be MIA until next Monday .. Y'all have great rest of your week!! Pray for this Mama's heart being away from Maddie Jane for so long!

In Family Five on Friday Friday Favorites Girlfriends

Five on Friday

Hey guys! Happy Friday! It's been a nice little week over at the Pryors.. full of afternoons in the backyard and nights on the deck. Isn't October just the best month!? AJ is headed to Boone, NC this morning on a bachelor party, so Maddie Jane and I are holding down the fort. Here's a look at some of my favorites this week :)

1. My new wreath
Mom had Mr. Al make me a new fall wreath for the front door. I loooove what he did, but man alive I need to help those planters out! I'm think huge mums in the planters and then lots more pumpkins surrounding the base of the planters..

2. Maddie Jane's art work
Once a month we get a big pile of her art work from school. This week she was admiring it and trying to hang it on this little wall and I thought that was a GREAT idea! So voila - we have it displayed :)

3. My new vacuum!!!
Elizabeth gave me a robotic vacuum for my birthday and I could not be more in love. It is a miracle worker - we named him Dan Dan the Cleaning Man, haha! We keep him turned on a majority of the day and he constantly needs cleaning out. 1. I'm surprised it works SO well and 2. I had no idea my floors were so dirty!! You can get one HERE - seriously, go do it. You won't regret it.

4. My sweet baby girl
Let's just pretend this isn't a SUPER unflattering picture of me, and hear me out on this.. That sweet girl has given us a run for our money this week. For the past almost year she has slept in her bed from 7pm to 7am without any problem. Most nights she will even ask to go to bed! But this week.. oh my goodness.. She goes to bed fine, but has been waking up a couple hours later, or at 3, 4, 5am. AND to top off the sleep strike, she has been taking her clothes and diaper off in the middle of the night!! She is clearly still sleepy and very irritated when she wakes up, so I don't think it's a bed time issue. Maybe we have just been going too much lately? BUT it has given me the chance to hold her. She is not a "hold me" baby.. The last time she fell asleep in my arms was April (when it happens so infrequently, you remember it!!!) So what I'm trying to say is.. this week has been rough, but I have really kinda loved it. Babies don't keep y'all.

5. Hudson Berley Archer
I saved the best for last!! One of my bestest friends in the whole wide world gave birth to the cutest little boy this morning! Brit has had a rough couple days, and I am so stinkin proud of her powering through to get this healthy little boy into the world. Welcome to the club Huddy!!

In Life Lately Maddie Jane

Life Lately

I've got a big ol' photo drop today from my phone before I forget about them! Sit back for a glance at our life lately..

That outfit. Those booties. Her twirl. LOVE HER. We enjoyed the cooler temps in Sandersville this past weekend on Grandma Audrey's porch.

Of course, we had to make it to the Dairy Lane for ice cream. Maddie Jane would LIVE off ice cream if I would let her. (Also Jordan Welch had just finished coloring/cutting my hair ^^ She is bomb y'all.)

We were in Sandersville for Paige's engagement party. The party was at Shay Helton's house and he had done an amazing job decorating!!

AJ stayed behind with hurt Molly, so there two were my date. Couldn't ask for a better backup!! :)

Random grocery store trip is A-OKAY with Maddie Jane if it includes a ride in the car buggy and a cookie from the bakery. (Real life: When we go to Kroger, she is an angel. When we got to Aldi, she throw herself on the floor every, single, time. Totally give all the props to the buggy and cookie. Anddd prob won't go to Aldi every again, ha!)

EEK! Never posted this picture! This is from several weekends ago when Gigi took Maddie Jane to Disney on Ice! We were nervous how she would do, but she was mesmerized!

Mornings are cool, but afternoons are still warm, so we are holding on to our afternoon popsicles as long as possible!

And that's it! AJ and I are both going in a million directions lately, and can't seem to get pics of us on the blog! And prob won't anytime soon... He is going on a bachelor party this weekend and I'm going to Vegas next! Such is life... Happy Wednesday friends :)
