What's Up Wednesday!

1. What we're eating this week...

We are in Georgia so we are reallyyy indulging this week. Think Dairy Lane, Zaxby's, Mexican, and alllllll the yummy Thanksgiving goodness.

2. What I'm reminiscing about...
How insanely fast this past year has gone -- my little girl is turning one NEXT WEEK. Somebody come hold on while I rock back and forth in the corner..

 3. What I'm loving... 
Maddie Jane's very first playdate with her boyfriend Mick! Katie and I have joked ever since I got pregnant that our two babes were destined to be together.. Maddie + Mick.. has a nice ring to it, right?

4. What we've been up to...
We are home in Georgia!! I am going to do an entire post of all the friends and family we have been able to spend time with, but here is a little glimpse of our week..

5. What I'm dreading... 
Flying back with this nugget! She did SO well and slept the entire flight here because it was her natural bed time on the red eye. On the way back though.. we are taking a morning flight. Pray for us. 

6. What I'm working on...
Getting all my Christmas gifts wrapped! I started back in September to spread some of the costs out (on top of our 2k in plane tickets wahhhh). So I had them all shipped to Georgia and I was welcomed with a TON of packages when we got here on Saturday. I have TWO more gifts to buy.. TWO. #allthemamassaidamen

7. What I'm excited about...
Christmas cards!! We are taking our pictures this afternoon and I cannot wait to get them out!! AND I cannot wait to fill our mantel with all the pics of friends and family!! Here is our outfit combinations that I agonized over .. and yes I am a freak and had to make a collage to make sure I liked the combinations together..

8. What I'm watching/reading...
We have been watching these shows non-stop and now they are all going off.. What am I going to do with my free time now!?

9. What I'm listening to...
This giggle. My goodness I could watch this video a million times over. SO IN LOVE.

10. What I'm wearing...
I remembered to take a picture of my outfit twice this month... fail. BUT I did manage to capture some seriously good stuff. Old Navy has surprised the heck out of me lately. It has been my go to for both me and Maddie! I caught both of these sweaters on 50% off and could alternate wearing them every single day.

11. What I'm doing this weekend... 

Maddie Jane's 1st Birthday Party!!! Can not wait to celebrate our sweet Georgia peach! How stinkin cute is the invite?? (Personal info redacted..) 

12. What I'm looking forward to next month... 
All things Christmas!! Last year we were insanely exhausted with a one month old.. This year we are doing the zoo holiday lights, seeing santa, and coming back to Georgia to be with family!!
Throw back to our teeny tiny baby last Christmas...

Life Lately..

Just a few snap shots of life lately.. Mostly while Daddy was away at Berkeley. 

Back on November 8th we walked to our polling place to vote.. 

In someone's garage! 

Proud to do our civic duty! 

We had some melt downs.. Mostly over not being able to chew mac chargers or climb off changing tables head first.. Meanest Mama ever!! 

And learned to take a LOT of steps (thus making all of Mommy's pictures a blur!)

We took some selfies.. 

Jessica came to town! And we walked to brunch..

Lots of giggles and shopping with Auntie J :)

And gorgeous sunsets.. 

I mean REALLY gorgeous sunsets! 

More strolling around Santa Monica.. 

And goofing off at dinner! 

Molly got her monthly BarkBox! Thanksgiving themed with a turkey and stuffed apron! 

And we strolled to brunch again with Auntie J - we got some serious steps in last weekend! 

Had to take Jessica to the closest Jewish deli - potato latkes, smoked salmon, and poached eggs. YUM.

More melt downs.. (Daddy come home already!!)

Fixed with new warm pjs! 

And pulling all of the wipes out of the holder.. (Silence in the backseat is never a good sign!!)

And our daily make up routine.. 

And finally.. trying on big girl shoes in our pjs! 

We head to Georgia tomorrow night!!! We have a wedding, Maddie's one year pics, Christmas card pics, lots of time with friends and family, Thanksgiving at Grandma Audrey's, and wrapping up the trip with Maddie Jane's 1st birthday party!! Going to be a whirlwind 8 days, but we are SO READY!!

Kell Bell in LA!

AJ was gone to Berkeley to do research for eight.whole.days and I decided that it would be a great idea to sleep train Maddie while he was gone. (WHY!?) So I have been exhausted and irritable and wayyyy off this blogging train lately. BUT AJ is home, Maddie is sleeping through the night, and I am back to blogging!! So strap in for some whirl wind posts :) 

Two weekends ago my bestie from college Kelley came to LA! She got here on Thursday night, we ate at home and shared a bottle of wine on the balcony catching up. Friday she did the typical tourist thing while I was at work and we met back up for dinner! 

The Boiling Crab is this super cute, low key tiny chain in LA. You pick your seafood, then your sauce, and they boil it all up and serve it to you in a plastic bag! No plates or utensils -- parchment paper, a roll of paper towels and a can of beer. YUM.

Saturday morning we rented bikes in Santa Monica and rode from SM down to Venice. 

Baby girl LOVED being in the pull behind carrier, but only lasted about 5 minutes before she was OUT! 

It was such an overcast/cool day.. perfect for getting in several miles :) 

 We grabbed poke bowls for lunch then headed home to rest up before our wine tasting. We went to this great little spot in West Hollywood and got there right after someone had just proposed! 

Next on the list was High Rooftop in Venice for happy hour. 

Big shout out to Daddy holding down the fort to make this girls night possible :) 

My phone died after this pic, so I don't have pictures of us cheering on the Dawgs at that little bar behind us, or our amazing dinner at Rose (also in Venice..)

Sunday morning we took on a ridiculously steep hike to the Wisdom Tree. 

The hike was quick, but HARD and totally worth this view. And that pup of ours may or may not have pulled me down the entire mountain... 

After our hike we had some well deserved beers at Golden Road Brewery. 

Next guest to come see us in Cali - you are for sure coming here!! It is such a cute place.. family and dog friendly with corn hole and giant connect four.

I wish this place wasn't so far from our house -- we would totally go every weekend! And Maddie girl loved having auntie Kell there to play and share fries with :) 

It did this Mama's soul some good having Kelley in town! We had such an amazing time and can always pick right back up where we left off, whether it was 2 weeks or year. THANK YOU for coming to see us Kell Bell!! We love you!!
