Friday Favorites

Hey, y’all!! It’s Friday, and I'm linking back up with NarciErika and Andrea for Friday Favorites!!

1. SHOES and a good deal!
I have had these Steve Madden heels in my online Nordstrom shopping cart for about a month. I just could not bring myself to purchase them for some reason.. but yesterday I was at Target and low and behold I found these!! 1/3 of the price and almost identical. Thank you m'am. And it might be 55 degrees tonight in LA, but I am rocking them on my first real date with my husband since Maddie was born!!! And I feel smokin, ha!

2. My happy girl!
I feel like Maddie has really taken a turn in her personality and overall presence. She has cried so much less and smiled so much more this week. Everyone told me that 10 lbs was the magic number for happy babies, and I think they just might be right!

3. Snapchat
Well specifically the filters on Snapchat. They could entertain me the entirety of nap time and I could never get a single thing done again if I let it! SO hysterical and I love love love having back and forth with all my favorite east coast people.

This is how Maddie makes me feel sometime.. ha!

4. SNICKERS EGGS
Listen... this candy is the best candy in the entire universe and it only comes once a year. No not a regular Snickers, it has to specifically be the egg ones. The ratio of chocolate to insides is absolute perfection. I may have put around 20 when my Target shopping cart yesterday. When I was a freshman in college, I discovered Jaci Rachels shared my affinity for Snickers Eggs. In fact, she gave me the grand idea of buying in bulk and freezing to enjoy wayyy after Easter had come and gone. Dedication? Obsession? Either way, I'm not sorry. One bit.

And speaking of cramming 20 chocolate eggs in my mouth..

5. Swim Suit Season
Okay, well swim suit season isn't exactly my favorite. Especially since I popped a kid out less than 3 months ago. Butttt swim suit shopping is my favorite! Now that I'm a mom, I am hanging the bikinis up. Not that I judge you if you're a mom and are still rocking the two pieces, I just don't feel comfortable. I really just want to be able to play with my girl and not worry about anything falling out, ha! Sooo I went on the search to find some fun/young looking once pieces and tankinis. And LOOK at these cute ones I found on Instagram! I ordered the first, but I'm still trying to find a link to buy the second one. Counting down till our first beach vacation in June with Maddie girl!!

In Maddie Jane Menu Monday Recipes

Weekend Wrap Up && Menu Monday

Friday morning Dad snapped a photo of his girls in bed before heading to work. I am SO going to miss these lazy mornings with Maddie.

It has been gorgeous lately!! MJ and I took advantage of it ALL week taking our daily strolls. Friday she had to try out her new shades :)

Saturday morning we were up early for Starbucks and Best Buy. And holy cow do we have the cutest Valentine's baby or what!?

On Friday night our cable box kicked the bucket, so we scheduled for Time Warner to come out and install a new one. As soon as we made that call our TV kicked the bucket too! I bought it used when I was a sophomore in college so it has had a really good run, but dang... this was also the day we found out we owe 3k in hospital bills, and we had to buy a new bed this month and had to get AJ a new laptop last month, AND we owe taxes. BLA adulting. 2016 has been a swift kick in the gut so far financially.

But hey doesn't our new TV look awesome? (And I got it on sale! woo!) And we have this gorgeous girl to show for the ridiculous hospital bills, and a comfy new bed, and AJ can get so much more work done on his new laptop and well I can't find a silver lining with the whole taxes situation, but I'm working on it..

Daddy and MJ taking a quick nap in between all of our errands Saturday. Swoon :)

After getting the TV hung, we headed to the Grove for some outdoor shopping and lunch at Nordstrom. SO yummy. AJ couldn't believe there was a restaurant in Nordstrom. Maybe, just maybe I can get him to go shopping with me more often now?? HA

Saturday night with my Valentine. AJ watching a movie on the TV and me watching the Bachelor on the laptop. We are pretty romantic around here!

And topped off our busy day with Chinese take out. YUM.

Sunday morning our girl was all smiles for Valentines!!

AJ had my two favorites - hydrangeas and Napa cab. He knows my love language.

And I know his too.. a nice whiskey and chocolate :)

We also busted out this nice champagne for the occasion. I would never spend this much on champagne, I'm just a red wine girl. But man oh man it was goooood.

And Molly got her new BarkBox just in time for a little Valentine's surprise herself. It was SO cute and Chinese New Year themed.

LOOK at this plush take out box!! Molly is in love with it and the squeaky dumplings!

We had the BEST view for our Valentine's dinner!! Wouldn't have wanted to be ANYwhere else!!

SEVEN Valentine's with this guy. He's my person. He gets me. And holy cow am I lucky to call him mine.

MENU MONDAY

Sunday: Steak, Lobster, & Asparagus
This is our go to fancy dinner. AJ cooked every single component to perfection. It was such a splurge with amazing steaks, insanely good wine, and those lobster tails..YUM. Shout out to the guy at Ralph's for cutting us a deal :)

Monday: Salmon Sandwich
We had buns leftover from last week, so I wanted to do some kind of sandwich this week. AJ seared some salmon, made homemade tartar sauce and finished it off with dressed arugula. This looks expensive but it was less than $4 per sandwich!!

Tuesday: Mexican Casserole
I found THIS recipe last week on Pinterest. Who doesn't love Mexican food!? This looked like a new spin on the same ole same ole tacos or taco bowls we do around here. AND I'm pumped to have some leftovers to spice up my usual lunch of ham sandwiches..

Wednesday: Pizza Rolls
This recipe HERE caught my eye when I was reading the newest Food Network magazine. It is super simple and can be altered to any taste. I have tried something similar to this in muffin tins and it didn't turn out too well - I have high hopes for this one.

Thursday: Sausage Skillet
I am on a new recipe roll this week!! I found this one in the Food Network Magazine too. It is a Hilshire Farms recipe, but you can find it online HERE. Sausage, carbs, cheese and some veggies only messing up one dish?? Done and done.

In Friday Favorites Maddie Jane

Friday Favorites

Hey, y’all!! It’s Friday, and I'm linking back up with NarciErika and Andrea for Friday Favorites!!
1. SALES and Stocking Up!
I do not like paying full price for ANYTHING. I constantly have my eyes open for sales and deals. I got ALL of these diapers, wipes, and household products for $100 at Target! Often they do a deal where you buy three boxes of diapers/wipes and you get gift cards! woo sign.me.up.

And man oh man do I like seeing our closet stocked! So nice knowing I got these for a good price and feels SO good knowing we aren't going to run out randomly in the middle of the night. Because those 3am feedings are STRESSFUL enough!

And oh our formula.. so dang expensive. But I found a deal on diapers.com this week if you bought in bulk you got 20% off. So helloooo 12 bottles delivered to our door. Too bad this will only last us about 2 weeks!

2. Workin on my fitness
We have been going on daily walks all week around the neighborhood. And holy cow, it has been hot in LA! I have sweated more this week than I have in a year. (Embarrassing!) And Molly has done so well being tied to the stroller!

HAHAHA I don't think Maddie is too excited to be doing squats with Mama!

3. MAIL!!!
Oh how I LOVE getting mail. And I have some amazing family members and friends who are constantly making sure I feel the love out here in Cali. Yesterday was an amazing day for mail - pretty sure my mail lady hates me though. She is constantly squishing everything in our box, grr.

My mom sent Maddie girl the BEST Valentine's Day box! And a little something for me and Age too! I mean holy cow!! Look at all these insanely cute clothes! Maddie Jane is ready for daycare in two weeks (Mama is NOT!). We are so so lucky Maddie has the BEST Gigi in the world!

Auntie Paige sent Maddie girl a Valentine's box too!! She will definitely be getting best dressed award at daycare. And now she has tons of cute stuff to help out with her growth spurt :)

AND our canvases came in for our living room! Kasie did such an amazing job with Maddie Jane's newborn pictures (totally need to post them on here). It was so hard deciding which ones to order!

4. Wayyy too much TV
AJ and I started watching The People vs OJ Simpson this week. I was skeptical.. thinking it may be super corny, but I was hooked immediately. They are doing a really good job of stating facts and using actual footage from 1994.

I also started watching Parenthood this week. It's a great show to watch with a baby - I can run change a diaper, put a paci back in and not miss some important plot twist. AND I have seen several actors from my all time favorite show Friday Night Lights!

And this is my current situation.. Blogging, Bachelor and Spinach dip. I have been reading Mix and Match Mama's blog for over a year now, but have never seen the Bachelor season with her brother, Sean! So.. thanks Amazon for keeping all the seasons on lock!

5. My Smiley Snuggly Girl
Maddie's personality comes out more and more every day!! She is such a happy baby (except when she's hungry, ha!) And every time she sees her Daddy, this is her reaction! This was while AJ was getting her ready to go out to dinner.

She LOVES her nightly snuggles in Mom and Dad's bed before her bath and bottle.

And snuggling with Mommy after her bottles :) Oh sweet girl, I am NOT ready to leave you and go back to work.

I hope ya'll have a great Valentine's weekend!!
xoxo,
Anna-Grace
