1. Sweet Molly loving on her baby sister!
Molly Polly has definitely taken an interest in my belly. She always wants to cuddle and finds her way on to my belly all the time. I've said it a million times, but I cannot wait to see how she will be with Maddie Jane. I love both of these girls so stinkin much!!
2. Amazing Craigslist find
I just happened to be on Craigslist this week and came across a dresser that would work perfectly in MJ's nursery. I negotiated a price.. discussed a pick up location.. and then Thursday at 2am when I was wide awake (per usual) I received an email saying they had sold it to someone else. So I went back on Craigslist and found one I liked even better AND cheaper! #winwin The lady paid $450 for it a year ago and we are getting it for $80!! Of course we are having to rent a U-haul truck to get this huge thing this weekend, so while we have the truck we're going to Ikea to get a new desk and book shelf for AJ (since he is being kicked out of his office..) SO excited to get some stuff checked off the list!
3. DSW sale
DSW is having a 60% off summer shoes sale!! There is some good stuff on there and here are a few of my favorites. I can't wear heels for very long, if at all.. but they can definitely sit in my closet until next spring for these amazing prices..
$39! (reg. $90)
$39! (reg $100)
4. COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Y'all.. there are only 34 more days that separate us and the greatest day of the year.. the first kick off between the hedges!!! The pre-season coaches' poll came out this week and UGA is ranked 9th.. with FIVE of our 2015 opponents ranked as well. Why yes, we do have the hardest schedule in my opinion and it's going to be a longggg road to December. I'm sure this season is going to give me a heart attack and most likely make me go into labor. Baby girl better hold on!! Football season is coming and it's our year!
5. The Bachelorette
I had a love/hate relationship with this season and Kaitlyn. She drove me crazy and was doing some questionable things.. but I looked forward to every single Monday night. I hope she and Shawn can make it unlike the other 596 couples. AND Bachelor in Paradise starts on Sunday! So excited I don't have to go a week without my trashy reality TV :)
Y'all have a great weekend!!
xoxo,
How far along? 19 weeks, 3 days
Baby's size? A mango - 6 inches long and 10 ounces
Milestone? Working on her 5 senses!
Maternity clothes? Yup.. the dress I'm wearing today isn't though!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? Terrible.. I've been up since 3am. Somebody let me have a coffee!!!
Symptoms? Headaches, cramping, sinus pressure, back pain
Best moment this week? Seeing my sweet baby girl at her big sonogram appointment!!! I have never been so in love with something/someone so instantaneously. Her Daddy and I are absolutely smitten.
Miss Anything? Sleep.
Movement? She is a wiggle worm! She moves all day long - I don't know when that little girl sleeps!! AJ can consistently feel her now and we are both enjoying that!
Food cravings? Strawberries and watermelon. And I could eat Chipotle every day of my life. I don't crave it per say.. it's just something I can always stomach.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Meat. Gross. Except for the steak in my Chipotle bowl haha
Have you started to show yet? Yup..
Gender? Sweet baby girl :)
Labor Signs? No way.
Belly Button in or out? Starting to flatten out some.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? Happy most of the time!
Looking forward to? Nursery decorating! Baby shower! So much stuff is becoming so REAL :)
Saturday was our sweet baby beagle Molly's 4th birthday!! We love this little pup SO much! She truly has been our first child. Can't wait to see how she is as a big sister! On Saturday morning she got strawberry/peanut butter cookies, new plush toys, a chewy ring and new raw hides. She was in HEAVEN. Then we let her go hang out with her friends for a few hours at daycare while we ran errands. She was one happy, pooped pup on Saturday night - it was definitely a birthday well spent!
(Side note: we name plush toys around here. This is Dennis the Dino and Monica the Monkey. They are now without stuffing and voice boxes, ha!)
(Side note: we name plush toys around here. This is Dennis the Dino and Monica the Monkey. They are now without stuffing and voice boxes, ha!)
Sunday I treated my swollen feet to a much needed pedicure! And I got a fun girly pink on my nails. Yes going every two weeks may be overkill, but it's my "thing" .. AJ gets beer, I get nails. Everybody's happy.
I have been ITCHING to get started on the nursery. I was in Marshall's Sunday night grabbing some candles and saw an entire section of gold glitter prints! I WAS IN LOVE. I had trouble deciding, but went with this one. I am planning to do a collage wall above the changing table, and thought it was a cute touch to add to the other things I have on pinterest/etsy. (Side note - it made me feel much better when I got home and saw this print in our dim lit soon to be nursery. Because we will only have two lamps, the gold glitter is not all in your face over the top. ha!)
I'm pretty much done with meat.. unless it's a cheeseburger, I just don't want it. However, the thought of fried shrimp sounded amazing, so AJ made these for me the other night! I had it in my head that frying shrimp at home was just going to be the hardest thing ever and not taste like a restaurant, but these hit the spot! So thankful for my husband constantly trying to figure out what I can/want to eat.
On Monday we had the big sonogram! They measured every little part of her body from her head to her toes, checked brain activity and heart blood flow. It was AMAZING at all the things they could see just by putting that thing on my belly! Maddie Jane had her feet up by her ears again with her fists and knees in her face the majority of the time. It was tough to get a good facial picture, but this one isn't bad! Isn't she just gorgeous!? I can not wait to meet this sweet baby girl!! Those lips, that nose. I am SO IN LOVE.
xoxo,
1. My new water bottle!
I haven't been great in my drinking water game because well.. I go to a bathroom enough without drinking a ton of water! But Amanda, had this awesome mug at the beach and I fell in love. The cup is Bubba 32 oz mug ($15 at Wal Mart!) and my awesome mother in law made me the monogram. I've consistently filled it up at least 3 times at work and another 1 or 2 at home at night. Drinking water is so much easier with a straw and a cute monogram!
2. Carson competing in IJM!
Carson is in Virginia Beach this week competing in the International Junior Miss competition in the Pre Teen category. I wanted to be there to cheer her on so badly, but plane tickets were just outrageous! Thanks to modern technology I have been able to watch the live stream - and she is ROCKING that stage! She has so much poise and a presence about her.. all while being so genuine and down to Earth. Love that niece of mine!!
These are insanely grainy, but here are some iPhone pics of the live stream. The first is in "Fun Fashion" and the second is "Formal Wear". She will have a final round tomorrow and the winner will be announced. SO nervous for her! But she seems cool as a cucumber!
Mom and I sent her flowers and so glad they made it there today on time!! And oh my.. all three nieces in one place - SO wish I could be there! I can not WAIT for MJ to be in the mix with these girls!!
3. My amazing husband and pancakes
I've been moody and needy and cranky this week.. It is ridiculously hot in our apartment and I can not get comfortable to save my life. He handles it all like such a trooper. I owe him BIG time after this pregnancy is over. This morning he ran to grab me pancakes while I was getting ready!! Let me reiterate... he's a saint.
4. Baby girl clothes!!!!
Well more specifically her Going Home Outfit.. I get on these obsessions and just look and look all over the internet at ridiculously cute baby things. This week I have been determined to find a going home outfit.. Mom told me I better stop buying, but I just can't help it!!! I mean look at this stuff..
5. SLEEP
WHAT A WEEK. I am beyond ready for the weekend and some rest!!! Hope y'all have a great weekend!!
xoxo,
How far along? 18 weeks, 3 days
Baby's size? A sweet potato! 5.6 inches!
Milestone? Yawning, hiccuping, and swallowing
Maternity clothes? Yup.. ready for it to get cooler so I can wear some more of Katie's cute hand me downs :)
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? Awful.. I have really bad back/hip pain that wakes me up every 30 minutes
Symptoms? Headaches and cramping
Best moment this week? My mom and grandma ordering the nursery bedding! I can't wait to get everything in there!!
Miss Anything? Sleep.
Movement? She was moving around like CRAZY last night at dinner. So ready for AJ to really get to feel her consistently.
Food cravings? Ice Water .. and I have been thinking about a caprese salad for 5 days now. ha
Anything making you queasy or sick? Grilled/baked chicken. Really not into meat much at all.
Have you started to show yet? Yup..
Gender? Sweet baby girl :)
Labor Signs? No way.
Belly Button in or out? Big ole' crater.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? I'm too tired to be either.. guess that makes me moody? :/
Looking forward to? Next appointment on Monday!! Our last appointment was a week late because of our vacation and our next appointment is a week early because of my doctor's vacation, so we only had to wait 2 weeks in between seeing our Maddie girl!
My company has a volunteer initiative program called AIM (Ares in Motion). I knew I wanted to participate, but wanted to do a little more than just show up to volunteer, SO I joined a planning committee! Out of the five events occurring in our Los Angeles office, I was a part of the Penny Lane Family Summer Festival team. Penny Lane is a local organization that helps match foster kids with foster or adoptive parents.
We had a super yummy food truck called The Rolling Burger Barn to feed our 200+ kids and their parents! I was very impressed with the quality of burgers and fries being produced in such mass!
We were not allowed to to take pictures of the kids faces, but I was able to snag this cute one with some kids sporting their Ares shwag.
In addition to the food truck, we had a cotton candy machine and an ice cream cart. Maddie Jane went CRAZY after I ate all that sugar!
I was specifically in charge of arts and crafts. I took it back to my VBS days and ordered a ton of cute crafts from Oriental Trading. We did scratch art, decorate your own foam visor, sand art, and sun catcher wind chimes!
We had a water balloon toss which was VERY welcome with that Valley heat! I don't know how people live in the Valley.. it's over 100 all summer long!
Tracey was manning the check in station where the kids got Ares bags, sun glasses and beach balls AND received their passport to get stamped. Every game/craft/food station had a place to be stamped so we kept the flow of kids moving around to the different activities (and no over earters.. ha!)
We had some cute home made games like can toss and bottle rings. I forgot to take a picture of the finished spray away game that AJ made!
And of course, everyone'e favorite.. the bouncy obstacle course!!
By the end of the day, this Mama had her swollen feet in a bucket of ice. I don't know how pregnant teachers/nurses do it! Being on your feet with a baby is tough!! Kudos to you guys!
It was such an AWESOME event! Everything ran so smoothly and went exactly as we had planned for months and months. To see the look on those sweet, appreciative kids' faces was priceless. I just wanted to take them all home with me! I really hope AJ and I are able to adopt a sweet baby one day.. These kids came into this world in an unfortunate situation at no fault of their own. It really makes you thankful for everything you have and makes all those ridiculous problems seem so small. Hug your loved ones just a little tighter tonight!
xoxo,
In Decorating Friday Favorites
Friday Favorites! On Saturday.. oops!
Posted on Saturday, July 18, 2015
1. Amazing friends and sweet packages!
Kyle and Katie sent us this AMAZING package! Maternity tea, Jenny McCarthy's hilarious pregnancy book, some amazeball cheese grits, a super cute card and gift card and Maddie Jane's VERY first pair of shoes!! We love these guys so stinkin much - no matter the distance or time apart, they are steadfast. Can NOT wait to see them in a few weeks.
2. Finding out about our sweet baby GIRL!
STILL getting all my thoughts together after sweet baby girl gave us quite the surprise after thinking she was a boy for the past month! I've known I am having a girl for only 5 days and I've already bought wayyy too much. She is SO spoiled.
3. Little DIY
AJ and I (well really just AJ) did a fun DIY this week. We made a "Spray Away" game for the carnival my company hosted for local foster kids. What the game consists of is a board with golf tees and ping pong balls, and you use water guns to spray the balls off.
4.New plants lookin' good!
Last week I planted the cutest little suculents and they are just thriving in my favorite pot ever. We received this cute planter for our Monograms & More wedding shower.
5. Cute camp mail
Hayden is a camp for the next month and we received the cutest letter in the mail from her. Love that she is having fun AND thinking about her cousins in California too :)
xoxo,
How far along? 17 weeks, 3 days
Baby's size? An onion! 5 inches long and 6 ounces
Milestone? Baby is starting to put on weight and the cartilage is starting to turn to bone.
Maternity clothes? Yes. And I get so tired of wearing the same thing every day to work. Hence why this week's pictures are in my pajamas. Those bad boys come off the second I walk in the door.
Stretch marks? Nope. "They" say that if I'm going to get them, I will start to see them around this time.. fingers crossed!
Sleep? Some good nights, some bad. I relish in those mornings I wake up feeling refreshed!!
Symptoms? Intense headaches and sinus pressure. Terrible swelling in the mornings and at night.
Best moment this week? Seeing our sweet baby at the doctor!! Being absolutely surprised that the doctor had the gender wrong! Finding out that everything was perfect with her.. all of the genetic testing came back negative and this Mama hasn't gained weight since the last appointment?? WHAT.
Miss Anything? My old clothes. Wearing high heels.
Movement? MAYBE AJ felt her last night.. or maybe it was gas? We're just going to go with it was her..
Food cravings? watermelon. watermelon. watermelon.
Anything making you queasy or sick? The weirdest thing happened yesterday.. my taco absolutely disgusted me, but if I cut it up and ate the individual parts, it was fine. Oh pregnancy, you're weird.
Have you started to show yet? Yes! And I think I am finally past that awkward stage of "Is she fat or is she pregnant??" I have had the most strangers comment on my belly or tell me congratulations.
Gender? GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! Madelyn Jane Pryor .. Miss "Maddie Jane" is already SO LOVED.
Labor Signs? No way.
Belly Button in or out? Big ole' crater.
Wedding rings on or off? On.. super uncomfortable late at night and early in the morning.
Happy or Moody most of the time? I am SO happy and feel so gushy and emotional and in love with this sweet baby.
Looking forward to? Working on the girliest nursery you have ever seen :)
AJ was actually scheduled to get back from Vegas later than my doctor's appointment. He woke up at 4am and headed to the airport to try to get on an earlier flight. He was number 3 in line for standby.. about 20 minutes before take off, someone dropped off, so he was bumped up to number 2. And then 10 minutes before take off, a couple didn't show up so he made it on!! We were both sweating it!!
When it was time for the sonogram, I FaceTimed Mom and the ultrasound tech brought up our little nugget on the screen. She scared the crap out of me when she left the room to go get the doctor. Little did I know, she actually needed the doctor to confirm that our sweet baby is in fact a GIRL despite them telling us she was a boy a little over a month ago.. Mom was screaming, AJ was grinning like a monkey, and I kept saying.. I TOLD you they didn't have it right!! Our little flexible girl had her legs up by her ears to make SURE we stopped calling her a boy ASAP!
Of course I am already working on nursery ideas (who am I kidding, I've had nursery ideas since day 1). We are going with light pink and gold.. lots of frills and ruffles and calming touches. And I had to go in and change the registry we had already made! And holy cow, AJ is a completely different Dad now. He is mushy and sentimental and is staying on top of my health (because apparently his baby girl needs more nourishment than a big strong boy??) Oh. Be still my heart. I have fallen in love with my husband all over again.
And well.. let's be honest. Girls are just WAY more fun to dress. I had a Baby Gap gift card that had been burning a hole in my wallet for months. So we headed back to the sale section and got our sweet baby girl some newborn stuff, a dress for Auntie Kell's wedding in April and a 4th of July outfit for next year! I know this is the first a MANY trips to clothe this little girl. I cannot even put into words how ready I am to meet our sweet baby and hold her in my arms.
You are SO loved Maddie Jane Pryor. I feel SO blessed to be your Mommy.
