In Baylor Hump Day Bump Day Pregnancy

Hump Day, Bump Day {20 weeks!}

Ohhhhhh, we're half way there. Ohhhh OH, living on a prayer. And all the fellow Fiji wives, said amen. (This song is played at every single Fiji wedding complete with a dance..And it has been stuck in my head since Saturday!)

Well I said this little guy would be lucky to get 5 Hump Day, Bump Days... but now I'm thinking more like 3!Ooops. Second kid is so different. Everything is a blur. Someone asks you how far along you are and you're like uhhhh. However with the first you were like 13 weeks, 4 days, and 6 hours, haha! With the first you are constantly worrying about every ache, pain and symptom.. and with the second you are either too tired or too busy chasing the first around to even care. But that's not to say we don't love you little one, and think about you every single day! So here is a little bit about how things are lately..

How far along? 20 weeks, 3 days

Baby's size? 6.5 inches, like a big sweet potato!

Milestone? HALF WAY THERE! We had our anatomy scan two weeks ago (pic above), and most everything checked out perfectly! So, so thankful.

Maternity clothes? I live in the same two pair of leggings and three shirts over and over and over. SO ready for warmer weather so I can wear something new! I refuse to buy any more cold weather things..

Stretch marks? Ugh yes.. I don't think they popped out until like 32 weeks last time. Whatever..

Sleep? Some good nights.. some bad. Always wake up at least once or twice. Have to have an extra pillow between my legs or my pregnancy pillow to get comfortable.

Symptoms? For the most part feeling good. Today I feel awful for the first time in forever, because I did SO MUCH yesterday. Whenever I push it too hard, I can always feel it the next day. Insane indigestion that has gotten so much better with a daily prevacid in stead of taking 15+ tums, ha.

Best moment this week? Prob should change the question to best moment this trimester since I'm doing these so infrequently, ha. But seeing our little guy on his anatomy scan, hearing that heart beat, so so in love.

Miss Anything? Fancy cocktails on date night.. sushi..

Movement? ALL the time. I felt him around week 13/14. And now AJ can feel him from the outside too. Not a crazy wiggle worm like Maddie Jane, but he does loooove to burrow down into my pelvis, ow.

Food cravings? gummy bears, fruit, and cannot get enough water. SO THIRSTY.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Still team no meat. I will occasionally eat like tacos with meat or a fried chicken sandwich.. but mostly fruit and carbs for me.

Have you started to show yet? Oh yes. Big basketball belly like I had with Maddie Jane. My pictures from MJ and this guy at 20 weeks are almost identical. But with MJ I had gained like 15+ pounds by now, with him only 2.. And started at the same weight. The body is a weird thing.

Gender? BOY!

Labor Signs? heck no

Belly Button in or out? It's getting super flat. Much quicker this time around.

Wedding rings on or off? On. Actually falling off. I still have on my wedding ring, but had to take my Yurman ring, that I wear every day, off for good because I had to many scares with it falling off.

Happy or Moody most of the time? Happy.. but tired. Oh, and cried my eyes out (like snot running down your face crying) watching A Star is Born, ha.

Looking forward to? SUMMER! Our neighborhood pool opening, my baby "sprinkles", getting his nursery complete, and finally getting him in my arms and smelling that sweet baby smell, ahhh

In Home Moving

Bathroom Remodel

Finally getting some more house pics up! When we bought our house in North Carolina, we knew we had some updates to do before we could move in. Nothing structural, all just cosmetic to get the house out of the 90s :) You can see our kitchen remodel back HERE

Before I dive into what our master bathroom looks like now, let's take a second to appreciate the before. Typical 90s/early 2000s builder grade style. While I do love to soak in the tub, this thing was just too bulky and taking up sooo much space. And the dark colors didn't help by making the space feel even more claustrophobic.

So here's a list of what we did:
Ripped out the old tub and replaced it with a modern standalone
Removed the dated light fixtures
Removed the dark back splash and updated the paint color to Repose Grey
Painted the vanities a nice white (can't remember the color!) and replaced the hardware
Changed out the floor to a dark tile
Replaced the mirrors with modern, circular wood mirrors
Replaced the decorative insert tile in the shower

**By keeping a lot of the existing components, and doing mostly aesthetic work, this project wasn't a budget breaker! I think AJ was pretty shocked at how low I kept this one :)

Because this shower was practically brand new and REALLY nice quality, I couldn't bring myself to rip it out even though it wasn't my style. The only change I made was replacing the accent tile with a more neutral pallet. I don't love the cream wall tile or the browns on the floor tile, but I used the wood mirrors, bathtub tray, and laundry basket to bring it all together.

Again these vanities aren't my first choice, but they were in perfect condition.. So we slapped a coat of paint on them and will live with them (and the counter tops) for several more years.

Dark bathroom floors were at the tip top of my list and I was so glad I could make it work in here. We had gorgeous white marble floors in our old house, but oh my gosh they were impossible to keep clean. These don't show a thing, and I love how they tie the bathroom together.

T-minus 20 weeks until that glass has wine not water :) But seriously, this tub is amazing. Maddie and I both use it all.the.time. And tip - the ones at Loews/HD are absolutely insane. I snagged this one off Wayfair and I could not be happier!

And that's it! It feels so incredibly spacious; AJ and I are never running over each other getting ready. And the light colors and modern design just make the start to our mornings a little bit better :)

In Little Things Maddie Jane

January Little Things

I'm going to start a "little things" post each month to capture all the here and there in between that doesn't get it's own post. January was a loooooong one that lasted approximately 57 days, but funny enough, I barely have pics!

We started the month off with New Year's Ever... where we celebrated at 8:00pm, then went to bed!

We bought a new car to have room for baby brother's car seat and a couple family members too!

And that process put Maddie Jane (and almost me) right to sleep! I loved every single minute of this, she never, ever, ever sleeps on me and it was pure heaven!

She perked right up when she realized Mommy's new car has a dvd player!

We went to the jump place one (or maybe six) times! It takes a LOT to get this girl's energy out in the yucky cold weather when we are all cooped up.

Kelsey was home for the holidays and I met her half way between here and Virginia for lunch. MAN I miss my west coast bestie so.dang.much. She's my forever friend, that one.. Can't wait to see her again in APRIL!

We had a couple more Christmas presents show up - and Maddie Jane was beside herself to stretch the holiday out!

We also FINALLY announced baby brother in January! It was a secret that was hard to keep :) And we are all so OVER THE MOON about his arrival.

Maddie Jane got some duck boots from CC that she thinks are THE coolest things ever.

I've been trying to up my SAHM game on the days Maddie isn't in school. We've practiced tracing her name, sorting colors, working with scissors.. Need more though! I can't imagine teaching 20 of these little minds..

We've made pizza a couple times!

Maddie Jane loooooves helping in the kitchen. It's a miracle we haven't been to the ER yet...

I took her to get her nails done with me - it's not exactly relaxing. but special time with my girl nonetheless..

I went down to Atlanta for our  annual company kickoff. Sure do miss seeing these girls everyday!

We did LOTS of things, but one of the best parts was definitely the axe throwing!

One of MJ's fav things to do is point out alllll our family members in the pictures in our house. She picked this one up and said "My family is so beautiful!" hahhah

She was pretty stinkin proud of this pic she drew. She told me it was Denise and Ryan, ha!

We headed to Sandersville to celebrate Granddaddy's birthday - and in route I HAD to stop and get my Krispy Kreme fix. There isn't one close to our house (plenty of Dunkin Donuts, ugh) and I dream about these glazed beauties all the time.

It was such a sweet celebration for Granddan's birthday! His health isn't great these days and we are so thankful to celebrate another year!

And Maddie Jane thinks he hung the moon! She talks about him almost daily.

How do you know when you're spoiled? When you are using Mom's bath tray to eat your Nothing Bunt Cake red velvet cake....

And I spent approximately 8 hours re-doing Maddie Jane's bathroom. I had asked mom and AJ to help me at least a dozen times and well... when they keep saying "we'll do it later," I end up doing it myself. HA It isn't perfect, because holy cow wallpaper is hard, but I do love it!

And that's it! Look at me.. catching up on this blog. Just in time for a TWENTY week hump day, bump day next week!!

In Gigi

Weekend at Gigi's House!

Over MLK weekend, we headed to the coast to Gigi's house! And to top it off, Amanda, Peyton and Barrett met us there as well!

Mom lives in St Helena, South Carolina. She bought this house several years ago and I have never even seen it! Holy cow it's peaceful... and this view over the marsh. Swoon.

Maddie's one request for the whole weekend was to "see the animals".. we weren't sure where she got this idea, but we fulfilled her dreams by going to the wildlife center!

This is the beach/state park near Mom's house. It takes quite a trek to get to this certain secluded beach, but the walk was so worth it!

Next we headed over to the light house. AJ stayed down at the bottom with MJ (he "volunteered" but I know that afraid-of-heights guy was secretly relieved..)

And the only other picture I have is from dinner on Saturday night of MJ and her favorite person ever. We crammed lots more into that weekend - shopping, ice cream, playing outside, silly string, and so much more. LOVE getting to easily spend time with my family these days!
