In Maddie Jane Recipes Weekends

Weekend Scenes

Friday afternoon AJ had extra long meetings with the West coast, so Maddie Jane and I killed time.. We went and got frozen yogurt.. browsed for some wine.. played outside..

Oh my goodness y'all.. I have looked at this picture 500 times and every single time I crack up. She is a MESS. Girl is not lacking in the personality department.

After I got Maddie fed and bathed, AJ finished up his video conference just in time to tell her goodnight and we were off to the back deck for a little at home date night.

We had chicken meatballs (that I am going to cook again soon and do a whole blog post on them.. they are THAT good) and an orzo salad I threw together... Orzo, halved cherry tomatoes,  fresh mozzarella, chopped up basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt + pepper.

Saturday morning we had a MUCH more enjoyable daily walk at 8am when it was 20 degrees cooler than our normal walking time.

I scrubbed the house top to bottom while Age and MJ watched a movie (per my request :)) and then we headed to the Dwarf House! The Dwarf House is a full service Chick fil A with waitresses and an expanded menu. And on Saturdays they have a buffet we didn't know about!

We had some coupons for mint watermelon lemonade and ice cream so.. (My kid eats ice cream every day of her life.. don't judge.)

Then we tried out Wal-Mart grocery pickup for the first time! It was sooooo nice. We compiled our list throughout the week. AJ and I both have the login, so we could throw things in the cart as we thought of them. Then we just clicked "On my way" on the app and they wheeled our groceries out when we parked in the designated area. It was perfect timing because it was inching close to nap time and we would have had a meltdown had we gone in the store. You can get $10 off your first order by clicking HERE. I will absolutely be doing it again!!

After naps all around, we met Brenna and Josh at Pure for dinner. Maddie girl was stuffing her face as fast as she could with chips and cheese. (PS bringing our own divided plate to the restaurant was a game changer. I will absolutely be doing this in the future.)

The table beside us got a piece of key lime pie the size of my head and Maddie Jane could not stop staring at it.. and that sweet lady came over and brought her a bite!! I MEAN. The south y'all.. It's the best place in the world.

Brenna snagged this pic of our table. Look at those little crossed arms over there. My girl!! I want to eat her up.

When we got home Maddie insisted on driving her car to get the mail and then taking a couple laps around the cul de sac. She's got that Daddy of hers wrapped around her finger.

All the heart eyes watching him be her Daddy.

Sunday morning we made it out the door to go to Starbucks before church!! Miracle.

Miss Independent. Always saying WWWAALLLKKK.

I stayed at church and volunteered during the 11am service. AJ sent me this picture of Maddie Jane playing with my shoes. Give that girl alllll the bows and shoes.

After nap sillies with my girl on the porch.

And then we had a tiny little date night.. we had a new member dinner at church then went downtown Woodstock to soak up a little time with each other while Maddie Jane was with Ms. Abby.

And that's a wrap on our weekend! We have a short three day week, then off to the lake in South Carolina with AJ's family Wednesday night, Sandersville on Friday, Brit's baby shower we are helping host at Lake Oconee on Saturday, then sprint back to Atlanta Saturday evening for a wedding shower. I'm tired just typing all that! Happy Monday :)
