In Maddie Jane Month by Month

ELEVEN MONTHS!!

Oh my Maddie girl, how in the world are we closing out on your first year!? Last year this time we were finishing up your nursery and now I am sending out invites to your first birthday party! You have so.much. personality!! More than your Daddy or I ever thought about having! You are such a ham and will be our class clown for sure. You are go go go nonstop and so stinkin care free. You always have a bruise on your head from just going way too fast, but you could care less. You pull up on anything you can get your hands up and always have something (most of the times something you shouldn't have) in your hand. That sweet little index finger points to things that excite you and that precious little squeal lets us know you are so stinkin happy. You are the life of the party and the light of every room you're in. We love you BIG Maddie Jane Pryor and are completely blown away that we get to be your parents!

(Side note: You are TOTALLY over these sticker month pictures.. as seen in this fake smile, ha! Thank goodness we only have one more month to go!!)

EAT
Sweet girl you do not struggle in the eating department! You have solid foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is usually yogurt, pancakes, or muffins. Lunch is a fruit, veggie and protein or starch. Dinner is usually whatever we are having (before we season it heavily) and cut up in small pieces. Favorites around here are mandarin oranges, bananas, sweet peas, mac&cheese, taco seasoned ground turkey, spaghetti, and eggs. You still have a bottle mid morning, mid afternoon and bedtime (and if you wake up in the middle of the night..) Looking forward to/nervous about this transition to whole milk and cutting down on the bottles!

SLEEP
You are a champion napper! Mornings and afternoons, we put you in your crib at nap time and you go to sleep with little to no fuss! Morning naps are the longer ones around two hours and afternoon naps are an hour or so.. Bed time can take a couple tries.. Gotta get snuggled in with bunny on one side, bear on the other side, lovie in hand and blankie on top. Sometimes you are quite the perfectionist like Mama! Most nights you will wake up once during the night and need a bottle and new diaper.. sometimes you wake up three times, and sometimes you sleep all through the night.. such is life.

DEVELOPMENT
YOU TOOK YOUR FIRST STEP THIS MONTH!! Can you just slow down already!? Everything is happening so fast!! You are a FAST crawler! And usually revert to crawling when you want to get somewhere fast. You cruise around holding the couch and your walker like a pro. You are a dancing, moving, shaking fool and LOVE a good theme song! You love to take things out and put things up over and over and over. You have quite the voice and babble all day long. You still do not like being in anyone's arms for very long -- so, so independent. You are such an amazing (for now) only child.. you will play and read books to yourself forever! You love your routine and do best when we stick to it.. but when we are insanely busy (like this month), you are such a trooper and go with the flow! You are still our tiny girl in the 10-20% percentile in height and weight. You are wearing 6/9 and 6/12 month clothing (with room to grow) and size 3 diapers.

LOVE/HATE
You LOVE bath time and could stay in there till you are a prune. You LOVE cheerios and they can make any bad mood turn right around. You LOVE your books and play-center at home. You HATE your car seat until we distract you with food. You HATE bows in your hair and always rip them out. You LOVE Mickey Mouse.. especially the hot dog song. You LOVE Molly's bowls for some reason and HATE that you are constantly getting in trouble for playing with them. You LOVE being tickled and playing peek a boo. You LOVE being outside, but HATE touching the grass with your hands! You LOVE looking at yourself in the mirror and will give the mirror a hundred kisses! And you LOVE the Georgia Bulldogs, even when they stink!
