In What's Up Wednesday

What's Up Wednesday.. a day late

The last Wednesday of every month, I link up with Mel at The Larson Lingo, Shay at Mix and Match Family, and Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To. And this month I'm a day late because our little munchkin turned 4 months old!

1. What we're eating this week...
Saturday: Crab Legs and Baked Potatoes
Sunday: Shrimp Pesto Pasta
Monday: Salmon Southwest Salad
Tuesday: Out to eat.. (well we tried.. more on that later)
Wednesday: Hot Wings and leftover potatoes
Thursday: Roasted Chicken and Rice

2. What I'm reminiscing about...
Being pregnant! Right about this time last year I got pregnant and man oh man has it been on my mind lately! If AJ was done with his PhD, I would have another one RIGHT NOW. (My Mom is going to call me screaming in no more than 5 minutes...) I complained about being pregnant, but now I miss it! And ohhh how I just love my Maddie girl. I want more babies!!

3. What I'm loving...
We have had some really nice afternoons (and sunshine thanks to the time change!) and we have been enjoying our balcony. I LOVE my afternoons with my girl.

4. What we've been up to...
We also had a "cold spell" (in LA that means 63...ha) so we bundled up to go out to dinner on Tuesday night.

Dinner lasted MAYBE 8 minutes before Maddie Jane had a complete melt down. We tried everything in the book and nothing would make her happy, so we threw a credit card at the waitress and ran out of there.. #mamatried

5. What I'm dreading...
I have been dreading cleaning for the past couple weeks. Of course I keep the house picked up and stuff wiped down, but it's gotten to the point of needing a good deep clean. I'm stressed because the house is dirty and I'm stressed because we don't have enough hours in the day. So last night I finally just hired a cleaner! I am doing a happy dance knowing my floors are going to be squeaky clean tomorrow! $100 is welllll worth those extra hours with my girl this weekend!

6. What I'm working on...
Getting Maddie to eat her veggies!! HA! She looooved the first baby food we offered her (bananas), but these green beans are a different story. She is a DRAMA queen about eating them too...

7. What I'm excited about...
Kell Bell's wedding next month! I am so excited to go to Atlanta in a couple weeks to celebrate my college roomie getting hitched to the man of her dreams. I have some serious mixed feelings about leaving Maddie for the first time, but excited to have some girl time with my friends too!!

8. What I'm watching/reading...
I read several books while I was on maternity leave, but now that I have been back to work I have read nada! Mom gave me Leah Rimini's book for Christmas, and I swear I am going to start on it this weekend!

Also on the To Do list for the weekend, start the new season of House of Cards! AJ and I have always binged watched this show the second it comes out.. It's been out a while, and it will probably takes us weeks to get through the whole season these days.. but I'm excited nonetheless!

Love, love, love this show! Such a good watch on Sunday nights  when you get around to watching all the stuff on the DVR.

9. What I'm listening to...
Dave Matthews Rockabye Baby! My step sister sent us this CD awhile back and we put it in the car for Maddie. The CD is full of Dave songs, but in lullaby form. We always have it turned way up when MJ is in the car, and then I'll catch myself still listening to it after I've dropped her off.. haha

10. What I'm wearing...
Jcrew Factory for the win!! I have been wearing soooo much Jcrew factory lately. I LOVE the quality you get for the low price. And I can always use more stripes.. always. Same style sweater HERE.

This pencil skirt I wore on Easter is the PERFECT pencil skirt. Not too tight, not too lose, really thick fabric. I want it in every color. You can find it HERE.

Doesn't this outfit just scream spring!? And let me tell ya about Jcrew shorts. They are the BEST and the only kind of shorts I wear. They come in a bajillion colors/prints/lengths. You can find the ones I'm wearing HERE and similar shirt HERE.

11. What I'm doing this weekend...
AJ surprised me with a massage and mani/pedi this weekend and I am PUMPED. It has been a longgg, hard week and I am so ready for a little rest and relaxation.

12. What I'm looking forward to next month...
We have a LOT going on in April. AJ is headed to Biloxi for Kyle's Bachelor party.. No telling what these boys will get into..

And I am headed to Atlanta for Kelley's wedding, and E is coming into town to help out with MJ during those two weekends. The 16th is AJ's birthday! So celebrations in store for that! And throw in some doctors appointments, a hair appointment, and good grief tax day.. I haven't done our taxes!

13. What else is new...
Business as usual around here..

Whew! That was a long one! Hope you guys enjoyed finding out what the Pryor's have been up to over on the left coast.

xoxo,

In Maddie Jane Month by Month

FOUR Months!!

Oh Maddie girl.. where do I begin? Every day I don't think I could love you more and then the next day you prove me wrong. Your smile lights up the world. Your giggle makes my heart want to explode. Your little personality buds more and more every single day. I cannot believe four months have already come and gone. With work and daycare and activities galore, the days are flying by. I just want to grab you up and freeze time. (Too bad you won't let me snuggle you these days..) We love you Maddie Jane and are SO proud of all you have already accomplished in your tiny little life.

SLEEP
You're a pro. We are over the moon at your sleeping habits. You take two good  naps during the day, a couple cat naps here and there and then you regularly sleep 8:30pm - 5:30am. When you got sick this month, it wrecked your sleeping habits, but who's surprised!! As you started feeling better you picked back up right where you left off. And of course everyone has their good nights and bad nights, but a bad night for you is waking up once around 2-3am, taking a bottle, and going right back to bed, so Mama isn't complaining!! You have completely transitioned to the crib at night and take most naps there as well. Keep it up little girl!

EAT
Your appetite is picking right up! You now drink 5 ounces every 3 hours on the dot during the day. You KNOW when it's eating time, and you will make sure the WORLD knows it. My munchkin likes to eat!! We also started baby food this weekend, per the pediatrician's suggestion. We are doing one food every three days to make sure you don't have any allergies. The bananas we tried the first few days went GREAT. I mean you ate them up like you had been doing it your whole life! Now that we have moved on to green beans.. well that's a different story.. I think your favorite part about eating baby food is sitting in the high chair with Mama and Daddy while they eat dinner too!

DEVELOPMENT
Oh sweet girl, you make us laugh every day! You have found your voice and you LOVE hearing yourself. You babble and giggle all.day.long. You are doing so much better with your head control and do a really good job with tummy time now. You play so well on your play mat and in your crib.. in fact you NEED that alone play time. You are just like your Mama and SO independent. We need our space. ha! You are grabbing on to anything you can get your hands on and everything goes straight to your mouth.

LOVE/HATE
You are still so in LOVE with bath time. It is the instant cure all to your bad day. You have given up on your thumb and LOVE sucking on your pointer and middle finger. You still HATE the car most days.. every now and then you will take a snooze or be content with checking yourself out in the mirror. You LOVE Disney Jr, being naked and hanging out in your swing to unwind after a long day. You LOVE Ms. Jenny at daycare and we are oh so so thankful. And apparently you HATE green beans, but we are working on it..

In Easter Weekends

Weekend Wrap Up - Easter Edition

What a great long weekend!! Friday I had the day off work and spent it with my baby girl. Late Friday afternoon I had a super relaxing appointment at Dry Bar and then we headed to a really awesome charity event co-sponsored by my company - Sports Spectacular.

A ton of professional athletes and TV personalities were there helping raise money for Cedars Sinai. We saw Von Miller, Deandre Jordon (HE IS HUGE), Travis Kelce, Jordan Weiber, and Witney Carson. I wasn't trying to be super creepy, but got this pic of John Salley.

The event was hosted by Patron, so the tequila was pooooouring. This was right behind the make your own margarita bar. AND we got to engrave our own Patron hand juicer!

And they had the photo booth the Kardashian's always use at their parties. Yes.. it automatically adds a perfect face filter to every picture... who's surprised?

Thank you Mr Photo Booth man for my perfect complexion. I should have you always take my pictures.

We did the Easter bunny on Saturday morning, because we decided to let MJ start baby food this weekend! Pureed bananas, colorful spoons and some new blue jeans. What more could a girl ask for?!

She had NO clue what she was in for after her morning bottle!

But holy cow, she LOVED them! She was grabbing the spoon trying to get me to go faster! Little girl is going to start packing on the pounds! #bringonthebabyrolls

'Nanners make my girl happy! She was so giggly and happy all day Saturday!! Squealing and talking and having a ball!

I mean... look at this baby! Her smile is infectious. She lights up the room. She is just the BEST baby!!

We had a couple errands to run on Saturday afternoon.. "You talkin to me Mama??"

Oh my sweet girl! All dressed up in her fancy dress for Easter service at church.

She has him wrapped around her little finger.. and she knows it!

Beyond blessed and so thankful for His ultimate sacrifice. (Also thankful for self timers on my camera for a rare family photo!)

Man oh man, third holiday in a row without our family was rough on this Mama's soul. I am beyond ready to get back east so our friends and family can be a part of this sweet baby's life!!

I was missing Grandma's fried chicken and mac n cheese this year.. but a trip to SugarFish was the PERFECT pick me up.

Sunday afternoon was full of snuggles and play time and lots of naps. Hope you guys had as wonderful of an Easter weekend as we did!
