Hope you guys had an amazing Easter! We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with friends and family in our hometown. It was crazy busy though! So strap in for a whirlwind post!
The weekend started a little early thank goodness! Our recruiting team was promised to leave early for opening day if they met their sub and leads goals for the month. Liiiitle did they know, I was also planning a boozy brunch and early departure for Easter weekend as well! We surprised them with a bloody mary bar, mimosa bar, and tons of snacks. We played a couple games and headed out of the office by noon. It was a great start to the holiday weekend and was really proud of the team for killing their goals!
Maddie Jane slept a decent chunk of the way to Sandersville. She was beside herself to get to "Namma's house" and see a shiny new pink bike! Gigi spoils that girl like there is no tomorrow!
We took it pretty chill on Friday night and did some baby shower prep.. Saturday morning we were up and at Mick's 3rd birthday party!
Maddie Jane had THE best time! None of our Atlanta friends have kids, so she doesn't get to hang out with other kids much outside of school. SO wish I could spend more time with my girlfriends and their babies!
Katie went all out for Mick's birthday.. cake, ice cream, pinata, egg hunt. And the weather warmed up sooo nicely.
I held Hudson for the longest time and Maddie Jane did surprisngly well with that! She's normally suuuuper protective and will be quick to say, "My Mama!"
The four of us have been best friends for over 20 years. It's so crazy seeing our little ones grow up (and imitate our personalities, ha!) This picture is REAL LIFE.
AJ took over 20 pictures, and this is the best we got...
Maddie Jane got a ninja turtle mask and immediately did this stance. NO clue where she learns this stuff!?
We didn't even make it out of Katie's driveway before this girl was OUT! (And then we had the dreaded 10 minute car nap and she never went back to sleep once she got inside, wwaahhhh)
That afternoon Mom, Ms Becky and I hosted a baby sprinkle for Kelli!
We kept the refreshments pretty simple and tried to stick to a fun "sprinkle" theme!
Love getting to do mommy-hood with this girl. We swap horror stories and maternity clothes and encourage each other through the tough stuff. Totally didn't plan this twinning we have going on! (I should really find a picture of us circa 1999 to show how far we have come! )
And Sadie girl is going to be the best big sister to Savannah! She is always including Maddie Jane is everything - those two play so well together!
Maddie Jane powered through the shower and then dinner at Herb's with her eyes barely open by the end of the night! I went and saw Anna Kat and Sarah and came home to this! These two never sleep together; I wish this was a regular thing!
Mom and Chip headed to the sunrise service, and we took it easy on Easter morning. Maddie Jane got three of her very favorite things - candy, stickers and shoes!
We headed to "big church" and MJ made it through a couple songs before I had to take her never-stop-talking-self to the nursery! At our church in Atlanta, kids never go to "big church," so she did enjoy all the singing and people watching.
FOUR generations of strong ladies. So thankful my sweet girl gets to grow up in this loving tribe.
Maddie Jane and her Gigi! These two are TROUBLE.
10/10 on the Easter pics.
We had a gigantic lunch and packed up our stuff to get on the road. We headed over to my dad's and of course Maddie Jane fell asleep in route. After the previous day's nap fiasco, we said a quick hello and headed back to Atlanta..
We got home around 5 to do all the things - unpack, wash clothes, grocery shop, cut the grass, eat dinner. And tried to soak up a tiny bit of that glorious 78 degree weather.
Like I said, it was a whirlwind of a weekend, but so happy to have been home for Easter for the first time in 4 years! Molly made this little bed for herself while we were outside.. and we all crashed by 9pm!
