Jones Family Christmas

Let me tell you guys... my family does NOT lack in the fun department. Where a few of us are gathered, you will always find something going on.. We are gamers -- mostly card games like Hand & Foot and Quiddler.. We are cooks -- fried chicken, buckeyes, oyster roasts, and everything in between.. And we are REALLY good eaters.. where a few of us are gathered, there WILL be food. So the annual Jones Christmas Party did not disappoint.

For the first annual Minute to Win It Jones Christmas, we were divided up into three teams - Team Ryan, Team Barrett, and Team Peyton.

We give my mom a hard time about being bossy and super detailed with her planning, but in the end we are pretty thankful she organizes everything for us!! What would we do without all our meals and games planned out!?

First game.. Poop the Potato. We had to carry a potato between our legs and drop it into a bucket relay style.. Brace yourself for the next several pictures. This was HILARIOUS!

Up next.. Christmas Cliffhanger. Each team had to choose a participant to blow Christmas cards across the table and have them hang. Whoever secures the most in a minute wins!

I can't remember who won?? Clint!? Either way, it wasn't the who had the most, it was who actually got one to hang!! HA

Next game .. Hot Christmas Gift.. A wrapped present was given to each team. Someone wearing two oven mitts had to try to unwrap the gift until the person beside them rolled a double and then it was their turn to try to unwrap it. This game had a two fold winner -- a team and an individual!

Winner, winner chicken dinner!

Hang the Candy Cane.. Each team had to choose a participant to drop candy canes from above their head onto tinsel. There was some serrrrrious cheating going on!

Jingle in the Trunk was THE funniest game of all. A tissue box full of jingle bells was tied to each participants waist, and they had to do whatever it took to get the bells out!

Big props to team Ryan for choosing Chip to be that participant in this one!!

These pictures do not do this game justice!! I should seriously upload the video!

Last game.. Twelve Days of Christmas. Each team was given a bag of items that alluded to the 12 days of Christmas, and you had to put them in correct order.

Shout out to MY team, Team Barrett, for winning!!

Next up is present time.. We go around the room and let all the kids open gifts one by one.

Maddie Jane slept through ALL the games and ALL the present opening, so it was finally her time!

You can't really tell from this picture, but someone commented on Maddie's weird way of sitting then they looked over and noticed I was sitting the exact same way! Sometimes she's like her Mama! Sometimes..

So around 2003, a pair of "Granny Panties" were given to Grandma the year Denise was pregnant with Hayden. Ever since then, the panties have been passed around from people inside (and outside!) our immediate family. We only two rules: 1. You have to add something to the panties and 2. You have to pass it to someone who has not received it before. The panties started getting so heavy with decoration, we have incorporated another pair of panties, a thong, and a reindeer to carry all the weight!! So last year Chip received the panties...

And this year's lucky recipient was... AJ!

The KW was from our Christmas spent in Key West.. The menorah and starts from Denise.. One pair has a coozie sewed on.. We have some creative family members!!

We ended the evening with more gifts, more food (this year's theme was bring your favorite app), and lots of time outside!!

And that's a wrap!! I am so incredibly thankful for this family of mine!! We love each other BIG. Maddie Jane is so lucky she gets to grow up with these crazies! Wouldn't trade it for the world.
