In Maddie Jane Month by Month

ELEVEN MONTHS!!

Oh my Maddie girl, how in the world are we closing out on your first year!? Last year this time we were finishing up your nursery and now I am sending out invites to your first birthday party! You have so.much. personality!! More than your Daddy or I ever thought about having! You are such a ham and will be our class clown for sure. You are go go go nonstop and so stinkin care free. You always have a bruise on your head from just going way too fast, but you could care less. You pull up on anything you can get your hands up and always have something (most of the times something you shouldn't have) in your hand. That sweet little index finger points to things that excite you and that precious little squeal lets us know you are so stinkin happy. You are the life of the party and the light of every room you're in. We love you BIG Maddie Jane Pryor and are completely blown away that we get to be your parents!

(Side note: You are TOTALLY over these sticker month pictures.. as seen in this fake smile, ha! Thank goodness we only have one more month to go!!)

EAT
Sweet girl you do not struggle in the eating department! You have solid foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is usually yogurt, pancakes, or muffins. Lunch is a fruit, veggie and protein or starch. Dinner is usually whatever we are having (before we season it heavily) and cut up in small pieces. Favorites around here are mandarin oranges, bananas, sweet peas, mac&cheese, taco seasoned ground turkey, spaghetti, and eggs. You still have a bottle mid morning, mid afternoon and bedtime (and if you wake up in the middle of the night..) Looking forward to/nervous about this transition to whole milk and cutting down on the bottles!

SLEEP
You are a champion napper! Mornings and afternoons, we put you in your crib at nap time and you go to sleep with little to no fuss! Morning naps are the longer ones around two hours and afternoon naps are an hour or so.. Bed time can take a couple tries.. Gotta get snuggled in with bunny on one side, bear on the other side, lovie in hand and blankie on top. Sometimes you are quite the perfectionist like Mama! Most nights you will wake up once during the night and need a bottle and new diaper.. sometimes you wake up three times, and sometimes you sleep all through the night.. such is life.

DEVELOPMENT
YOU TOOK YOUR FIRST STEP THIS MONTH!! Can you just slow down already!? Everything is happening so fast!! You are a FAST crawler! And usually revert to crawling when you want to get somewhere fast. You cruise around holding the couch and your walker like a pro. You are a dancing, moving, shaking fool and LOVE a good theme song! You love to take things out and put things up over and over and over. You have quite the voice and babble all day long. You still do not like being in anyone's arms for very long -- so, so independent. You are such an amazing (for now) only child.. you will play and read books to yourself forever! You love your routine and do best when we stick to it.. but when we are insanely busy (like this month), you are such a trooper and go with the flow! You are still our tiny girl in the 10-20% percentile in height and weight. You are wearing 6/9 and 6/12 month clothing (with room to grow) and size 3 diapers.

LOVE/HATE
You LOVE bath time and could stay in there till you are a prune. You LOVE cheerios and they can make any bad mood turn right around. You LOVE your books and play-center at home. You HATE your car seat until we distract you with food. You HATE bows in your hair and always rip them out. You LOVE Mickey Mouse.. especially the hot dog song. You LOVE Molly's bowls for some reason and HATE that you are constantly getting in trouble for playing with them. You LOVE being tickled and playing peek a boo. You LOVE being outside, but HATE touching the grass with your hands! You LOVE looking at yourself in the mirror and will give the mirror a hundred kisses! And you LOVE the Georgia Bulldogs, even when they stink!

What's Up Wednesday.. On Thrursday

The last Wednesday of every month I link up with Mel at The Larson LingoShay at Mix and Match Family, and Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To. Blogging three days in a row just is not going to happen! Maybe in a life before kids? So we are having What's Up Wednesday on Thursday!

1. What we're eating this week...
Sunday: Asparagus Tortellini
Monday: Pork Chops & Brussel Sprouts
Tuesday: Thai Take Out
Wednesday: Chicken Curry
Thursday: Hard Shell Chicken Tacos

2. What I'm reminiscing about...
Halloween years ago! This pic was from 2011 at Georgia Tech Fiji. Oh we were so young, and skinny, and well rested..

 3. What I'm loving...
Our crazy girl! Maddie Jane is so full of life! AJ and I are constantly saying she has more personality than the two of us put together!!

This silly girl is either on or off.. there is NO in between.

4. What we've been up to...
Man oh man, October was BUSY! And I did an okay job capturing all the adventures on the blog! Here are a few highlights and where you can more more..

My 27th birthday weekend!! Read about it HERE

We drove up the California coast! Read about it HERE

We went to Napa with Bev & Ben! Read about it HERE

And we went to Hayden's Bat Mitzvah in Phoenix! Read bout it HERE

5. What I'm dreading...
My girl growing WAY too fast and walking!! She has taken a couple steps and is getting WAY too independent for this Mama's heart!

6. What I'm working on...
Eating! Holy cow this girl can EAT. We are constantly trying to be creative with baby friendly dinners.. Or at least have something special prepared for her..

A lack of teeth is not slowing this one down. She chows down on adult food three times a day.

Now being clean while doing so is not her specialty.. She is Molly's favorite person these days with all the food she drops!

7. What I'm excited about...
HOME!!! This is the longest we have ever gone without a trip to Georgia (5 MONTHS!!) and we are over.the.moon. So ready to see all of our favorite people!! On top of this insanely long wait, we have not been home for the holidays in YEARS (Due to other travel and well having a little munchkin during this time of year..)

The last time we were home for Thanksgiving was 2014 for Mom's surprise 50th birthday party!

And the last time we were home for Christmas was 2013!! (It breaks my heart to even type that!! And oh my goodness, look at my teeeenny tiny little nieces!)

BRING ON THE HOLIDAYS!!!

8. What I'm watching/reading...
We have so much TV these days, we can't keep the DVR clean!! (And it doesn't help that we can't watch more than one show a night without falling asleep...ha)

9. What I'm listening to...
This song gets stuck in my head every day!!

10. What I'm wearing...
Super failed at the taking pictures of my outfits this month BUT I wanted to tell y'all Old Navy has some great looking stuff and it is SO affordable. Kelsey and I are headed down to Santa Monica this weekend to check it out. Fingers crossed it looks as good on me as it does the model...

11. What I'm doing this weekend...
This is the first weekend we have had home with nothing to do in a month and the last one we will have until December.. So we are taking it easy!! A couple errands, grocery store, church and watching this game with my hands over my eyes... #godawgs #sonervous

12. What I'm looking forward to next month...
November is another crazy one!! The first weekend Kelley will be in town, the next week AJ is on a week long business trip, the second weekend Jessica is in town, the third weekend we are in Georgia (hallelujah!!) for Kate and Trey's wedding, followed by Thanksgiving, and rounding out the month with Maddie Jane's first birthday party!! I get tired just typing all that!! Someone give Mama a drink!

XOXO,

In Maddie Jane Travel Weekends

Hayden's Bat Mitzvah in Phoenix!

Friday Maddie Jane and I hopped on a flight to Phoenix for Hayden's Bat Mitzvah. Traveling with her at 6 weeks was muchhhhh easier than now. She is a fast crawler and can take a few steps, so these days it's all she wants to do!

I was bribing her with anything in sight to be still.. Look at that face! "Mom, I can really have these cookies??"

Of course the SECOND the plane landed, she fell asleep in my arms. Slept through getting off the plane, getting our bags and loading into the car seat and into the car.. Sigh..

We had a dinner that night with all of Hayden's family that had come into town for the festivities. This sums up our life lately.. Maddie eating and trying to get away and a glass of red wine in my hand! hahah

The party STARTED around the time she is usually taking a bath and getting into bed, so I was beyond nervous how the night was going to go. She was a complete dream!! I could not have asked for anything more - she was so sweet and sat at the table so nicely. Love love love my girl!

Me, Mom, and Maddie with the guest of honor - cousin Hayden!! (That bib y'all.. We go through 3-4 a day, plus several outfits.. oh the drool..and still no teeth..)

Aunt Denise welcoming everyone.. The dinner was so nice!! We sat outside (bc it's still in the 80/90s in Phoenix!!) and enjoyed pizzas, salads, wine and ended the night with gelato!

Sweet girl fading.. we didn't leave until close to 10pm!! She did SO WELL!

Saturday morning the service was during nap time.. so of course she fell asleep on the way there, but promptly woke up the first song that was played! We ended up hanging out in a side room eating our weight in cheerios, ha!

After long naps for the both of us, we had lunch in the hotel restaurant while Mom and Chip helped set up for the party.

And hung out by the pool.. (Terrible Mama forgot swim diapers and swim suits..)

Then it was party time!! This girl was tearing up the dance floor before the guests arrived.

And then we spent the rest of the night like this!! hahahah Our girl is on the MOVE.

Maddie takes after her Daddy in the photo booth department!

Isn't this set up so awesome?! Clint and Denise completely turned their backyard into a 13 year old's dream party!

Hayden making her grand entrance!!

Traditional Jewish chair dance!

My girl taking it all in.. sensory overload for sure.

During Bat Mitzvah's you light candles and honor people that play big roles in your life. Hayden opted to do something a little different.. She had balloons with lights that the guests threw into the pool when she honored them.

Dessert bar!! Champagne flutes filled with candy, then topped with a cupcake.. YUM-O.

Maddie Jane loooveess Gigi!!

And her C too! But pretty unsure about that mustache of his..

Around 9 she started to fade.. two nights in a row of partying is tough on a girl!!

She was out before we made it out of the neighborhood! She slept through bathing her and putting on her jammies!! It was a whirlwind weekend, but we are SO glad we were able to make it to Phoenix. Such an awesome experience going to our first Bat Mitzvah and so special that it was for a girl that we love so much!! Mazel Tov Hayden!!!
